My wife loves crab cakes thinks picking them is barbaric. My dad and I have done this since I was in diapers. I truly cherish the act and feel gratitude every catch. Crabs get a freshwater bath for 20-30 minutes then covered in old bay and steamed over apple cider vinegar for 18 minutes. I will do my best to remember a picture of the crab cakes

It’s was a grilling day for me and side salads making day for my wife. Kale/apple and pasta salads, with dry rubbed chicken thighs, which were rendered on the smoker with indirect heat (400F) and then finished over the coals. Served with a CO Pinot Noir.

I smoked some St Louis cut pork ribs today for 6 hours and we served them up with the kale and pasta salads from yesterday, which were even better today.

Wife got the steak (which surprised me). She never orders steak. I got the lobster tail. Delicious. But the coleslaw wasn't that good...Or maybe it just didn't go well with the Lobster and mashed potatoes.

I just had gum surgery. My dinner & other meals are lukewarm Mac & cheese, oatmeal.
Yogurt w/ fruit on the bottom & cottage cheese w/ fruit on bottom.
Soft white bread w/ peanut butter & jelly.
Oh yeah, Dasani water, 2025 vintage. : )

After a week of salads, it’s time for something off the grill! Local beef, garden veggies, and roasted herbed potatoes (not from the garden). Almost 100% farm to table. This is my favorite time of year.

We decided to pair it with a great red blend from AZ.
