Here is a wrist pic somewhere by the Mediterranean sea.
I will upload one with a clearer view of the writings.
Type "D" it is from what I understand.

Wrist shot on the beach is heaven.

I have a service dial on my 1680 as well and the one in this thread appears to be a new or different variant. I need to go and study the dial thread. On mine, the 660 ft = 200m line of script is a bit more compact and the new one here stretches to align nicely under the Submariner script. Here's a side-by-side picture. Never mind the reflections or the paint spots - I've been doing some interior painting and haven't gotten all the drips cleaned up.

This is an excellent remark. My service took place in July- August 2021 so it could be that it is a recent variant. Ideally, other members can verify on the basis of the two dials

Hey! Just identified another variation. Your "swiss" writing sits on 1 half line, whilst mine sits on 3 half lines.

so far, the variations are the "aligned ft and meters with submariner" and the "enlarged swiss" at the bottom

Still not a sign of a similar dial. It could it be that it is a recent type they are introducing for dials of 1680. I sent the service dial to a few watchmakers just to have their reaction and they told me that it has lost the vintage feel of it. Could be. Now it is history for me. I must let it age

I love how new variants keep popping up for vintage pieces. That watch with the crisp functional dial with working lume is the best of both worlds.

I love it.

I've owned a lot of different Rolexes with different dials. The matte service dial on my 1675 is the favorite I've owned. Depending on the lighting it's deep black, gray, charcoal, toupe ... And on top of that, the lume is very bright and glows strong with the maxi markers.
