I just added my first Panerai (PAM233) to my collection. Nice watch - will wear it occasionally in rotation but can't see myself owning more than one Panerai at any given time.

I have got Luminor 561 8 days. I own other brands including Rolex. Love the simplicity of my Panerai and the fact that I do not need to worry about putting it on a watch winder as it is a manual wound watch.

To be honest, I bought a 111 a couple years ago and it has nearly replaced my sub. I am not normally attracted to large watches, but this just seems perfect; now my sub feels too small

PAMs hold no interest for me. I have a bunch of Rolexes and a number of other brands but would not own a Panerai. While I like big watches, PAMs seem to wear too big for me. I'm also not crazy about the faces.

I think Panerai and Rolex go perfectly together in a collection. They even have shared DNA.

I have three Rolex (among other brands) and one Panerai, I wear the Panerai regularly in rotation with my other watches.

I consider the core of my collection to be the 14060, the 3570.50 and the PAM000. The three basics.

Loved my 422, just a bit too large for me. Hope to add a 233 in the future.

You may want to check out the Due models ... They're not for everyone, but I thought the 729 was awesome

When I first saw the images of the Due collection, my first reaction was "Wow! They've really nailed these!". The more I learned about them, however... snap on case backs, 30m wr on a design created for a divers watch (come one, crown protecting system in a 30m watch?!).... definitely not for me.

It's a shame, because some of the Due models have exactly the aesthetics I like on luminors.

Panerai obviously looks very different from Rolex. I wear my Pam 557 on casual occasions. Rolex on more dressed up occasions. So yes, they are both good looking watches and they serve different purpose in my collection.

I take the point, which has been raised several times in this section, about the snap on case back and the 30m WR. However, will the Due be your only watch and, if so, how often do you dive below 30 metres with it on?

I have other watches so I wouldn't let either of those concerns put me off, my 1950 Luminors suddenly became too big for me. If you like the Due, go for it and by a G-Shock for diving. Job done

Hey, Paul!

In my view, it's more of a concept problem. The Luminor design is, in essence, a diver's watch. It's whole history and DNA are intrinsically linked to diving, as is it's design, with the characteristic crown protecting system. In my opinion, that watch makes no sense with 30m wr, just as a submariner wouldn't.

One could, of course, use it exclusively as a dress piece and never have any issues with that, but to me that would betray the purpose of owning a Luminor Panerai. I certainly wouldn't get a 30m sub or sea dweller.

Beautiful watches, though.

I used to be a hardcore Panerai fan for many years and that was my last Panerais status (507, 441, 346, 177 and 385).
Bad news - all Panerais are gone. Good news - I still use this Panerai's watch storage!

That's a fair point, Kaue.

I've heard a lot of people say that the Due has moved away from Panerai's DNA. I'm not a fan and I'm not sure I could wear one but they do open the brand up to people with smaller wrists and those who'd like to wear a Luminor under, say, a dress shirt. and that's no bad thing my friend

Finally got myself a PAM00113. But I went against the grain and got a white dial. Have too many dark/black dial watches...
