Nothing this year!

Bought a YG DayDate 40 last year for my 40th so very happy with my current collection, however if I get the call from my AD for the 36mm WG Daydate or the 36mm Green Dial that I have expressed interest in, that may change!

Purchased 4 Rolex watches this year, but sold 2, so I am +2 for the year.

Ok, guys , I was not asking to get in anyone’s business or personal details. So don’t be offended.
I’ve spent over $100K this year on a 2X Daytona’s , YM, 2X DJ, 2X GMTs and some other brands. Some for me and my loved ones

I’m good for now or until I fall again? Like the song says,

Again, no offense to anyone! I respect everyone on TRF

Cheers,

Responses range from zero to six figures. Clearly, with all the Rolex watches available for immediate purchase on Chrono and other markets, and the smaller but still significant number available new from dealers, anyone who wanted to spend $100k or even $500k on Rolex could easily do so, right now.

At the same time, common sense says most Rolex owners don’t do that. How many Mercedes does the average Mercedes owner buy in a year? How many fine fountain pens do most people buy in a year? For every person who buys 3, 5, or 10 there are a dozen who buy one.

Given all the people who aspire to own a Rolex, the average number owned is surely close to 1.0, and the average annual spend is close to zero since the watches last so long.

That does not deny that some people buy a great many of them, and more power to them, but they represent a small minority even though they surely have an outsize presence here. Though, when presented with this question, I expect there are quite a few multiple Rolex buyers who just decline to answer for any number of reasons.
