More on the 4% side

with the current flux of world currencies, I can imagine Rolex imposing a more delicate approach to price increases. A higher % increase in Turkey vs say the UK

If the increase is more than 5% I’ll look elsewhere for my next watch. Theres plenty out there to scratch the itch.

It's a shame really. Even Omega have been cranking the prices up to the point where I can't justify the price.

I've been impressed with Tudor though, great value for money.

Here is the pricelist, Italian VAT is included, needs to be divided by 1,22 and multiplied by your local VAT. (Eur proces)

What sort of % are we looking at then for your Italian market?

Looking at the Bluesy, the retail price was 15750 euro in Italy in 2023. Now it’s 16500 euro according to this list. That would mean an increase of 4.76 percent if not mistaken.

Just checked and compared prices in Italy
for those interested, the increase is roughly +4%

few examples:
126600 (SD43 SS) - 4.1%
126610LN (Sub Date LN) - 3.9%
126710BLNR Jub - 4.1 %
124300 (OP41) - 3.1%
126334 (DJ41 Jub) - 3.8%
336934 (SkyD Jub) - 3.75%
336935 (SkyD Everose) 4.1%

The one with less increase seems OP

Same increase for precious metal ?

About 4% for gold and platinum?

Also, do Italian prices correlate with U.S. prices , due to currency fluctuations?

In March of '22 I bought a Rolesor Sea-Dweller for $17,000 at my AD. I transferred that amount to a different credit card for a 3% fee ($510) and got 20 months to pay it off with no additional interest. I make the last payment in January. Current list is $18,000 and if it goes up 5% that's $18,900.

I only did the transfer because I bought a Mercedes S450 on a 0.99% note in the same month and wanted to maintain liquidity. Feeling pretty darn good about both those transactions now.

Hi, just checked some PM,
seems that PMs have a lower increase:

checked DD 40, YG normal or diamond (stick) dial : increase is 3.5%

DD40, Platinum, normal, diamond (stick) dial or meteorite: all have increase 1.9 %

ciao

PS: concerning correlation between Italian and US prices due to currency fluctuations, sorry, don't know

That’s awesome. It seems like a lot of strategic maneuvering to buy something that’s a non essential.

Best practice imo is if you have the cash buy it.

Mercedes S450 is a diff story

Fun fact your S450 will lose more than 50% of its value in 4 to 5 years while your Rolex will likely appreciate !

The Benz was a 3-year old CPO and I paid 57% of the original sticker. Put down $20k and financed the rest. Was a YOLO after a very fit and athletic colleague who was just a year older than me dropped dead. Love the car, and love road tripping in it. Plan on driving it another 8 years if it proves generally reliable.

Could have written a check for the watch too, but the credit card offer was there and I felt like floating it, after making two major purchases in the same month.

I think the 2023 price in Italy was 32350. Now it’s 33600. So about 3.72 percent increase I think.

Yes,
absolutely correct prices!
(however 33600/32350= 1.0386 and the percent increase
should be 3.86%, right or wrong?)

I think you are correct. I did it the other way around. I did it correctly in my earlier post about the Bluesy. Too early. Need more caffeine lol

Based on previous years.. has the grey market gone up to reflect new price increase? Curious if I should pull the trigger on a grey watch in 2023.
