I bought a Tudor that is my travel watch. I usually wear it with an Artem sailcloth strap. Low key and perfect for me, particularly when I’m out of the country. I don’t worry about wearing my rolexes when I travel in the states. I grew up in New Orleans and understand situational awareness.

Personally, I don't travel with luxury watches, to me it's not worth it. Customs, hotel security (or lack of), risk of being mugged with wife and two young kids. Forget it. That's when I enjoy wearing my cheap watches the most.
I hate to say it but it’s a different world today than just a few years ago. I wore my JC DSSD all through Europe in 2018 & 2019, still undecided about which watch to wear for my upcoming trip to Europe.

sounds like a solid plan, Bringing a beater for the day makes total sense, especially when you want to enjoy your trip without worrying about scratches.

I am comfortable wearing anything in my collection on vacations, but I am reluctant to bring more than one watch. Always concerned leaving watches in the hotel.

Nobody outside of watch forums knows what an explorer is.

If it doesn't look like a sub and it isn't flashy gold/gems, you're fine.
