As for TimeOnMyHands: I guess you have too much time on your hands. Don't bother posting in this thread again or it could be your last. You have insulted enough people.

Thank you.

And that is a beautiful watch.

And now that we have one less member this thread can get back on track and we are a better community. Plenty to like about that.

I thought Mike carried himself quite well in his responses to a certain member. My respect level for him (although has always been high) has gone up a few notches.

I've yet to see it "in the flesh" but since pictures first came out, I've loved the look although many thought it was nothing special and tried to shoot it down. I may not have the money to have it now but once I do, I'm sure it's not a purchase based on what it's resale value will be but what it means to me to own a Daytona in platinum.

Let's hope we see more owners showing their new pieces here!

About the resale,
It might won t be that bad i doubt Rolex will manufacture this piece too long,as soon as they cease production we will see very high prices i m sure.

Mike is too nice, I've even got points for jumping on someone who was being nasty to our man.

I too was thinking if Rolex stops production of this watch after a certain number, it will become a collector's item and after market prices will go up. But I think Rolex is unlike Patek or other manufacturers that limit their production of special edition watches. They want to maximize profit when they can. Right now there seems to be a healthy demand for the Platinum Daytona despite the price. How long this demand will continue, we shall see, as I think most people are fascinated by the watch, but after looking at the price move on.

I tried on the watch at an AD and it is quite heavy and looks great in person despite having the plastic wrapping on. Another customer right after me tried it on as well, but seemed to pass on the price.

Still waiting to see it in real life but can't wait for the market price to settle in, so some of our friends can pick them up. Seems to really show itself in different lighting. This thread should be special.

Considering selling a few pieces and getting one of these but does anyone wear it with a matching chestnut brown strap? I dont like bracelets and hope I can save at least 20k by finding one sans bracelet.
