Given the current scarcity and extreme mark-ups of SS Rolexes in the grey market, there is something in this. Tudor is relatively accessible, to some extent using the same design language, and does not have the somewhat uncomfortable associations that Rolex now has (think of the flexing on YouTube and elsewhere).

I actually just sold my 39mm Explorer and bought a new 36mm Tudor Date+Day in steel. Still happy to be a TRF member! No strong preference for a separate subforum though.

I say YES it does. A separate Forum would be great and I think it's about time.

But as others have said, it's been mentioned several times and the Mods have yet to do anything about it, though I wish they would.

I think Tudor has a strong following (myself included) and a long history. There's lots to discuss and getting out of the shadow of the "big brother" forum might help those of us who are interested in discussing the brand or wanting to learn more about the brand history, desirable references, what to avoid, and latest releases.

I would say yes, Tudor does warrant a separate section of the forum.

Back in the day, Tudors shared many parts with Rolexes as well as the overall aesthetic.

In more recent years it's clear that Rolex is intent on positioning Tudor as a distinct, separate brand with no part sharing and a more playful, youthful aesthetic and ethos.

There may or may not be a correlation but any first year math student can tell you that correlation is not evidence of causation.

A Rolex does not a D-bag make.

That’s a very nice watch. There is one for sale exactly like it in Winter Park Fl that I recently considered. The issue was the bracelet. I felt that it was so very light and loose feeling. But not unlike older oyster bracelets.

In all honesty I've had enough of the snobby BS. And I have more Rolex than Tudor watches. It's about how long waiting lists are and if it's not in demand it's not a good watch. There are not many collectors here...it's all flexing crap now and what gifts to buy a shop assistant who accidentally ended up selling watches for a living.

I'd love a Tudor only forum. It would be exactly like what the Rolex forum used to be like years ago, when they were tool watches not 'investments', and nobody showed off that they got one within 6 months of brown nosing a shop assistant.

Years ago I used to think Tudor should be separate. These days I appreciate the link. Once you take all the pig-headedness aside and hate from some, they are a very tightly linked set of Watchmakers. Neither owned by the other but both by HWF.

Regardless of people thoughts, Tudor changed back from the Rose logo to the shield to emphasise the Tudor watch action of metaphorically being the Rolex shield. To protect it from other watch companies. It does this better now that it is not a look alike but by standing on its own.

I also enjoy reading the brainless comments from both groups claiming superiority. They tell me nothing about the watches of course.

Like many, I also own both brands. There is far more in common than not. Keep them together.

It's well known that Rolex doesn't make the movements in Tudor anymore. They did in the past, but now ETA does. I'm not throwing shade on the brand by any means.

You often see VW posts on Audi forums, but you never see Audi posts on VW forums.

My daily watch is an Omega Speedmaster pro. Its also well known that Swatch brand owns Omega. You NEVER see people posting Swatch questions on the Omega forums.

Either way. I guess this makes our community unique.

Seems perhaps you have it backwards and somewhat wrong.

To the best of my knowledge Rolex never made Tudor movements. Tudor used virtually all Rolex parts making now Vintage Tudor Subs but used ETA movements to keep costs low.

Tudor now uses, in many models, their own in house manufactured movements, which I guess one could say are technically made by Rolex.

Tudor went to in house movements when squeezed to do so by the Swatch Group.
