GMT, most people I know who own both wear their GMT most of the time and actually use the functions (Date, timezones, using bezel as a makeshift timer).

On the daytona, you will NEVER use the chronograph... Why? because you need to take off the watch and unscrew the pushers to activate the damn thing. Yes you can twist them open to on the wrist but only with dexterity, and if you forget to twist them back well its not as water tight...

I have the original BLNR and the Daytona C. BLNR for daily, useful with the date! And Daytona C For special occasions

If I could only have one, Daytona C All day long

The Daytona unless you really use the GMT complication.

I prefer the Daytona to the BLNR 100%, if I was the OP who already owns a GMT I would take the Daytona.

Answering the original post’s question, if I only was to have one watch, and the Daytona and the BLNR were the only two I could chose from, I’d keep the GMT, it’s not as pretty IMO, but it’s much more useful to me.

That is an important consideration if you are trying to build a collection. 2) The choice of case, dial, bezel and strap also make the Daytona an extremely attractive proposition to a wide range of tastes. 3) The historic links with celebrities and in particular Paul Newman have raised the profile of this watch to biblical proportions. 4) The fact that it is for all intent and purpose "unobtainable" makes it all the more desirable". The GMT however, has it's own unique characteristics. 1) It has a massive following with many considering it to be the quintessential Rolex (even surpassing the Submariner). 2) The watch bezel is the only one in the entire range that provides a splash of colour which has in itself attracted a number of homage watches from other brands. 3) The GMT function which whilst being available on other watches in the range is nevertheless seen as its USP. 4) Because of all the hype surrounding the Daytona, the GMT is possibly more readily available.

So, all in all, an almost impossible conundrum to solve. I have a GMT but I would love a Daytona. The question is... If I had a Daytona, would I still crave a GMT?
Not to invalidate any of your points, just pointing out that Clint Eastwood often wore a Root- Beer GMT.

I love the boldness of the GMT BLNR and the and the classical feel of the Daytona. GMT, then Daytona...then Sky Dweller!

The Daytona can be the one and only and never out of style watch. Better design, function and highly desirable. Daytona for me over any other watches in Rolex line up.

Daytona. No question. I'd have to have the white dial, though.

GMT vs. Daytona

It’s amazing what a bracelet can do to a watch. I can tolerate the jubilee on the Pepsi but on the Batman it just feels wrong. If I had to choose between these two I would go with the Daytona even though I am a bigger GMT fan than a Daytona fan.
This first

Then this

I had them both and only kept the GMT. The Daytona is a great watch of course, it’s just down to personal preference. I just prefer the size, shape, design and function of a GMT.

GMT, but BLNR would be my last choice of the GMT options.

I think I’d rather have the GMT actually, the more I look at the Daytona the more I’m put off by how hard the dial is to read at a quick glance.

Two completely different watch. Daytona for iconic and fashionability, GMT for versatility.
