There is no way to know that. I think that is probably true of a lot of models, but NOT the Wimbledon. Tennis star Roger Federer preferred the bimetall. In this particular watch, the gold makes the unique dial pop. It is so much more attractive in the bimetal configuration, than in all SS. But, even if what you surmise is true, why do you feel it necessary to rain on someone’s parade, and even double down on your unfriendly comment, when rightly called out on it? It just makes no sense. Also, the Wimbledon is NOT easy to get. On the contrary, it is still trading much above list, on the secondary market. Obviously, you are not a fan, and that’s certainly your right. But, as the old adage goes, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, _ _ _ _!

I didn’t actually say anything bad. I said it’s less desirable and the SA should have been happy with the sale and I stand by that. This is not a reflection on any grey/black market. This is what I’m told from my watch collecting friends and AD’s….

Any SA must be happy to make a sale right now on most bi metal pieces as they’re not the quickest movers so no and if you’re a snowflake that’s fine. You can gather with the other snowflakes and be offended but no offence has been caused!

We are here to talk about Rolex watches, and when someone gets a brand new one, we are genuinely excited for him, or her. We are also supportive and kind. As a rule, we don’t denigrate others’ incomings, and we certainly don’t insult each other. Not cool, man. Not cool!

But we also don’t have to be overly excited for every single incoming. We can exchange opinions. That is what forums are for. I’ve not said anything bad about anyone. Some people are overly sensitive for no reason and that’s fine. I accept that

Incoming posts are not for voicing negative opinions, thereby stealing joy from the OP. They are for congratulating the new owner of a brand new Rolex, regardless if it’s one you, or I would have chosen. Everyone here knows that, as do you. You could have, and should have, just been nice, or stayed silent. The irony here is, that if you ever buy a Rolex, and start an incoming thread about it, I”ll be the first to congratulate you.

Saying something is less desirable and sa’s should be happy with sales is not negative. I choose not to post incomings. I don’t have the time to go back and forth but I hope that clarifies my position and you can move on. Forums are for sharing opinions and not everyone has to have the same one. Mic drop…..

Repeating yourself is hardly worthy of a Mic drop! ! You win. You’re allowed to be yourself. For my part, I still choose kindness. Good night.
