[Poll] 116500LN (White) or 126500LN (White)

No one having two from AD 116 and 126 will keep 126

We had both 116s via grey for a couple years and switched them out for the 126

[Poll] 116500LN (White) or 126500LN (White)

I much prefer the 12 now in both black and white. Every time I strap a steel 11 to my wrist I cannot unsee the (needless) asymmetry. I also much prefer the way the 12 lugs curve down and don't float above the wrist the way the 11s often do.

The dial is more refined and I like the look of the ring around the bezel.

Having said, If I was buying on Oysterflex I'd go 11. The case is practically identical to the 12 steel, and as I think SS Oyster has mentioned, being much softer, the 18ct gold ring on those references would be easily damaged. I also feel the less refined look works better with the rubber straps.

I have the 116519LN and switched out our 116500s in black and white for the new 126 series. So I love the new design but get what you’re saying about the new 126519LN the bezel ring is an Achilles heal. The solid bezel of the 116519 does pop a little more then when it’s surrounded by metal. I just couldn’t stand it on the 116500 since it over powered the smaller case. I feel the sold bezel matches the techs look of the OF and doesn’t overpower the larger case.

I’ll still probably update someday when my ad can CPO mine in 2 years

12 series is just stunning here. No matter the results, both 11 and 12 are beautiful in its own rights. However, it is remarkable that 12 is able to even level out/win the poll if it did. 12 is only on the market for 1 year+ and ownership/wearability experience is still much lesser compared to the 11 series of 7 years.

I'd argue there is potential for significant bias towards the 12 given lack of availability of the 11. Meaning, folks "like" the 12 more because one can no longer get the 11 at retail.

Don’t worry. There’s abundance of 11 (resale and new old stock) on the market. 12 will catch up but will take years.

I hear that. What I meant is that if you were able to determine what percentage of 11 voters were "never grey (secondary)" versus the same for the 12 voters, my hypothesis is that there would be a greater percentage of them voting for the 12.

That’s exactly right.
Selling 11 for 2X MSRP and getting 12 doesn’t change my point.
If 11 and 12 were both available at AD today 11 wins hands down.

11 on black 12 on white - I feel the thinner subdials work on the the white dial, but as for black I favor my 11 - the case shape isn't a thing for me either way, but I don't like the ring around the bezel on the black, like it on the white.

On this picture the 116500 case looks better for sure. But the new case shape and endlinks that are more vertical on the 126500 makes it even more comfortable than the 116500.

That’s my choice as well. I am very happy with my 116500 black and 126500 white. I think I would not mind a black 126500 vs my 116500 but as for the white dial I find the 126500 much better looking vs the 116500.

Completely agree with the renders that are not 100% exact to the real watch. I posted real images comparison on the first page.

11 series for me. The case size, proportions, and overall look personally speak to me more. Don't get me wrong, I'm splitting hairs here on some of this - but at first glance it's the 11 that looks more perfect.

Usually the newest Rolex references are overwhelmingly more popular than old references, but this old Panda 116500 is really strong. This is looking to become a similar Hulk like senario.

No, thats your opinion.

I could have had a 116500 from my AD but I declined because the asymmetric case ruins the watch for me I can't unsee it.

The 12 is a game changer for me, and If i didn't have my 116509, I would most likely have a 126500.

This is interesting to me because the 12’s right side actually looks bigger than its non-crown/non-pushers left side in photos and on wrist. The asymmetric case of the 11 looks optically more balanced on the wrist to me. In fact, Rolex emphasized this clever, intentional optical illusion on the 11 series.

12 looks more refined to my eyes. I really like that they did away with the asymmetrical lugs. The bezel looks a bit lighter. The updates are subtle but effective.

And yet never used this "clever" design on any of the WG/RG/PT Daytonas. And have now ditched it for all 12 series references regardless of metal

It appears Rolex itself wasn't really loving it either

Can't use logic with Rolex, Rolex does what Rolex wants to do. Rolex stopped the popular Tiffany and other dials on the OP, stopped all interesting colors of the Daytona dials, stopped the Le Mans. Does that mean those were a mistake or Rolex was not loving the colors. Rolex statement says the asymmetrical lugs of the 116500 makes for a more balanced case and look which is correct , then stopped it after 7 years. It doesn't mean anything except that it makes the 116500 more special as with the above examples.
