Definitely try one on first, as that is on the border of being too big

Thanks, I was also back and forth about original red/black or yellow/black but will probably choose red now. Just have to get off my little island and into town to try one on.

The original black and red had an excellent screen, so my guess is Casio used different backgrounds mirror for the yellow one on its LCD, thus the somewhat underwhelming contrast.

Sadly I sold the GWF1000 Frogman as it was simply too big for my skinny version of my wrist (I lost 30% of my weight half a year ago)

Nice! I see some pieces similar to mine, really like those.

For your ProTerk / Pathfinder do you notice that a few months after a battery change the triple sensor features stop working indicating low battery?

Both of mine did this but the batteries still went on to power the main functions for 2-years.

Nope, haven't noticed that behavior

Go for it, Adam. I have a 6.75” wrist and am wearing a GW-9400 as we speak (well, as I type). It’s a large watch, but somehow it wears well and doesn’t feel stupid on my wrist. I think if you try one on you’ll like it. I’m a big fan.

And the Rangeman arrived today! Thanks to all who helped (indirectly) convince me! Also for letting me know they've released a newer version. Thrilled I was able to get this previous version brand new for a great price while new models are still available for sale!

I hope they don't truly discontinue this models here but it seems inevitable, eventually.

Thanks, Adam! Thankfully because of the Risemam and ProTrek it wasn't too overwhelming to operate. Right now it's on the solar watch charger (a very powerful USB LED from Amazon) to top it up. All of my solar Casio's stay full with the little light they get which is amazing, this should be no exception going forward.

Thank you! Agreed, and it feels very nice, has a bit of heft to it compared do my older G-Shocks.

Can't wait to test out the features properly on this one.

Just received this GW-6900 yesterday and happy to see it synched up alongside my 5610U overnight. Bought new locally but a JDM model still on Tokyo HT when it arrived. Feels great on the wrist but not 100% sure about the band, which I might change to a 5610 type for a slightly slimmer look.

It was either this or the Rangeman 9400 (been pondering both for a few weeks), but that felt just a little too big on the wrist when I finally tried it on (though I'll probably get one eventually).

Very nice, Adam! Congratulations! That's my favourite style of G-Shock, as it is very much like the model that got me started back in the day. Please share a lume shot if you can! It's nice how unique some are with regards to this.

Still one of the best bang for buck G-shocks out there!! I love when the solar cell catches the light and goes slightly purple

Thank you guys. The lume is hard to capture on my phone, Rommel, but here's as good as I can get this morning. It's actually greener in reality.

My two JDM models are both the same price in Japan (Y22,000 / US$150) but the 5160U seems more discounted and somewhat easier to find locally here in HK than the 6900.

The 5160U was US$90 while the 6900 was US$115.

Congratulations Adam, the watch looks great on your wrist.

Looking at the watches side by side, I wonder how a slimmer rubber band, similar to your 5610U would look.

Picked up a 5610U this week and I am loving it!

Feels slightly smaller and is more comfortable to wear than my GMW-B5000-1

Nice! I'm running out of space to keep these but could see myself getting one of those.
