Looks good on the Jubilee bracelet. I own a Forstner Jubilee and have it on my BB GMT right now. I will switch it over and give it a try.

I'm considering purchasing both, its just a matter of finding a friend in London to do the pick up. They have to be paid for and picked up in person at the store however you can appoint someone to collect on your behalf.

They won’t let the same person buy both watches at the same time - they have a strict 1 watch per person policy.

They monitor this by making you take out a Harrods reward card at the time of purchase.

The card has to be registered to an address & email so every time the card is scanned it brings up all the previous purchase history associated with that card.

You can walk in and get one, or you can be told it will take a long time on a wait list. It depends on how one engages with the sales staff. Come across as a gent/lady, have an honest discussion with them, be nice, be proper, and show that you are a genuine person with genuine interest - and you can walk out with a Pelagos FXD, LHD, and the Tudor BB green bezel. Show up and act like most people (do you have this/that/now), and chances are against you. The Harrods AD has AMAZING people. Most ADs actually have good people - there are definitely exceptions, but most AD staff will treat you as a human being if you treat them as a human being.

Btw, my approach has resulted in walk-in offers from other ADs that include an LVc, BLNR, 116500 Black, SD43. You’d be surprised how often good AD staff are inundated by people who barge in making demands, and how refreshing it is when they meet someone who is genuinely interested and talks well to them. The only reference I’ve fallen short on (that I wanted) was the Speedmaster 321 movement model, and the particular Omega AD I was talking to bent over backwards to try to source it for me before I traveled, but couldn’t due to allocation issues.

Sure, some things are luck - but others are simply being a good person and having a good conversation.

That’s why I just came from a snorkeling vacation with the wife that I posted here where we both wore FXDs (that some say are hard to source but in reality are not). Simply taking nicely to someone usually has great benefits - especially since most other people do not and thus you end up having VERY little competition. Some years back before I could afford paying for business class seats I would often get upgraded simply by being nice and smiling. Works with watches as well. :)

As my avatar shows, even gets lions to lick you.

Regardless of success you’ve had with other AD’s I can guarantee you will not walk in/out with a Harrods Black Bay.

Strict policy - you have to register an interest & then wait for the call

Unfortunately that’s just the way it is - the only refreshing part is that even with no prior purchase history, if you wait long enough you will get the call - unlike Rolex where you’ve more chance of platting fog than receiving the call without big spend history with that AD

Hope you don’t mind me butting in with my Harrod’s on an uncle Seiko jubilee.

Sorry, but you CAN NOT just walk into Harrods & walk out with a Harrods edition BB

Regardless of how ‘engaging’ you are with the staff.

Hi all,

Have anyone acquired a Tudor Harrods recently? What's the waiting period like?

Thanks.

I got an allocation. But I was unable to get to London and gave my spot to a forum member. They are over 10K now and it took me only 3 months from signing up for them to tell me I could come pick up the watch.

Feel like the Harrods numbering has been discussed for years about being discontinued etc.
feel like numbers up to 10,000 is kind of silly at this point

It is not proper to call a stranger a liar, which is what ‘fake news’ entails.

Two ways to answer your question though:

1) I can show receipts showing my purchase of the Tudor (not just the BB Harrods but also the FXD and the LHD). Easy to show/prove. Also, the links I provided show the AD at Harrods holding the watch to size it for me (those who know the Harrods AD can tell), and later on I am wearing it at my hotel room.

2) Consider as well that Tudor makes these watches in small batches for Harrods, and consequently every now and then a batch will arrive and the AD will make calls. I was fortunate enough to be there, be engaging, and to have a couple of people turn down calls. Had I gone there a half-day before or after things would probably have been different

As for being ‘engaging’, I can only speak of my experience and what ADs have told me. Most customers tend to make demands and are generally not ‘engaging.’ They storm in and ask if this or that is available.

Fake news or not - and I have absolutely no need to lie to strangers on a forum - you’d be surprised just how far being ‘engaging’ can take someone. Especially when it is atypical in modern society to see people who take the time and try to ‘engage.’

Works for flights and hotels as well by the way. Especially when the person ahead of you in the line was acerbic. Works like a charm …

If you think getting a BB Harrods is ‘fake news’ what about two FXDs?

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=871127

Now, I know it is not about just being ‘engaging.’ No amount of that will get access to a Nautilus, for example. But it is definitely true that taking the time and talking to AD staff as people (not functionaries) does go a long way.

YMMV.

I have seen the discontinued number goal posts move from 1k to 5k to 10k. Perhaps its less of a number limit and more of a time period limit, 5 year, or 10 year run?

if you are into vintage no crown subs: it's a very charming everyday beater. I like it a lot.

Nope. Watchfinder have had the discontinued label ever since they first began listing the Harrods edition.
