New Daytona 126500 Appreciation Post and Comparison vs 116500

116500 white and 126500 black is my preference, in that order. Can’t go wrong with a 116 or 126 though.

Mine is bigger than yours logic.
They are both great pieces.
Some like the new one more.
Some like the prior one more.
Some don’t care as long as they get one.
I’m happy with my two and found the new one to not warrant me wanting to get one, specially since older version fits better on my small wrist.

Had they kept the 1165 case and re-centered the subdials the 1265 had been near perfect - had they made the subdials full like the 6263 it would have been perfect!

I found 116500 much better fit for me.
126500 lugs/case redesign is too aggressive and too big and departure what made 116500/116520 pleasure to wear

Ok! It’s funny because the 126500 is more comfy on my wrist vs 116500 but I guess it depends on the wrist shape and size!

Got the call last week for my black dial 126500LN SS Daytona - picked it up on Saturday and I'm in love with it. It hasn't quite sank in yet.



I have a question for those who own a modern GMT Master II 116 or 126 reference on Oyster.

Do you guys notice a difference between the Oyster bracelet on the GMT and the Daytona? The bracelet itself on the Daytona feels somewhat lighter, a little less solid, and perhaps even a little cheaper to me. Does anyone else have this comparison to check and give me their thoughts?

I have both the 116 and 126 ref GMT Master II's on Oyster and the bracelets feel identical, along with even the Oyster bracelet on my 126610LN Submariner, that's the same. However, there is a slight difference with the Daytona that I can't quite put my finger on.

Great comparison photos. I'd lean towards the thinner sub dials, although, I feel that's very much nit-picking, and I wouldn't care which one I had really.

Yep, have a 126500 since february and I had immediatly the same fealing about the bracelet.

My old 116520 bracelet (or GMT BLNR Oyster) feels like a tank compared to the new one !

I've not seen anyone else mention this at all

I can't quite put my finger on what it is, it definitely feels less solid and slightly lighter

While esthatically (and fonctionally) the bracelet is impressive, the feel and noize it does make me think of a 5 digits bracelet/clasp.

I do my friend, my GMT VTNR feels a lot more substantial, I’m a big Oyster fan though and love the way it looks ..
