Stunning pictures. I've never really looked at the Sky-Dweller since they are so hard to find, but these pictures are beautiful. I never noticed the red on the hour markers before. Would someone explain what the red is supposed to do? Thank you.

Red squares behind the hour markers signify the month. 1 = Jan, 2 = Feb and so forth. The watch is an annual calendar so it only needs setting in February once a year (assuming you keep it running).

Looks great! Really really nice pictures. Like you I moved on from the DD40--for me I prefer ceramic bezels although this watch is really special. I think it would be a nice surrogate for the DD40 when dressier occasions call for it.

Amazing pictures, there is this something different and fantastic about the shade of blue and the colour complements of the whole dial.

I absolutely love this watch. My dad owns a white dial Sky-D which he never wears, so I'm not unfamiliar with this reference. However, I've never seen the blue dial in person and I get why it's so hyped up. It's incredibly beautiful and varying. Not dissimilar from other blue Rolex sunburst dials, but not exactly the same either.

There's something special about this shade of blue, perhaps it's the contrast of red accents in the dial, or possibly the flat (almost smurf) blue of the 24 hour sub dial. A detail btw I had no idea about until seeing the watch in person. Compared to the white I find it to be a little more versatile actually. It appears dark and black sometimes, other times very vibrant blue and other times navy. Although the white is extradoinary, it's white. It doesn't change the way this one does and IMO is a little more dressy looking. Definitely elegant and stunning but a little less on the sporty side if that makes sense.

The size is amazing. Yes it's pretty big, but relatively thin considering the complications. It wears extremely well and is very comfortable. Is it as comfortable as my daytona or 16710? No. But it has an entirely different set of offerings in both stylistic appearance and functionality.

Admittedly, this watch is not 100% in my comfort zone in terms of style. I'm more of a traditional sports watch guy, but lately have really been feeling like there was a void to fill in my collection. (the DD40 in my signature is long gone btw).

I don't think this watch will be my daily user but not reserved for special occasions either. I strongly believe it could be a keeper for life and a watch I mature with as I get older.

I'm super super excited about it! Here are some pics. Thanks

Beautiful pictures! Wear that beauty in good health mate. Cheers!

Yeah it's a lot more versatile than I'd imagined. I've mostly been in sweatshirts and t-shirts since I got it. Still works IMO. But yes, it will look killer in a nice button down and pants as well.

What is your wrist size if you don’t mind sharing.
I have a 7" wrist. I actually wish it came with a half link, but come summer it shouldn't be an issue. I'm running a 4 x 6 right now on the loosest micro adjustment, EZ Link open. In the summer I will probably add in a link and go to the tightest.

Is your sub a TT or full PM?

no definitely not. It might wear slightly larger than a 42mm, but IMO the AP Diver wears more like a 44mm and it's thick. The sky D is also pretty thick, but surprisingly thin considering what is packed under the hood. It wears really well and is very comfortable.

Thanks!

I'd say it could easily fill that spot. It might be slightly big for super dressy occasions, but technically the DD40 wouldn't do that job either. But I don't care much for "rules". I'd say hell yeah, this watch can do it all. The wrist presence is very strong though, stronger than the DD40 IMO. I could look at the dial forever though haha.

Thanks.

Thank you! Totally agree. A lot of people have been asking me how it compares to the sunburst of my green sub 116610LV "Hulk". They share a lot of the same characteristics in how the shade and texture varies in different light. But simply put, I don't LOVE every shade of green the hulk puts out. I do love every angle, shade, texture and color of this blue dial. and LOVE that the sub dial is a flat softer blue. it's so cool to look at.
