He championed 2 Daytona’s as being future hits that nobody paid attention to when the new steel Daytonas were released in 2016. This yg green dial and the wg blue dial. Yet everyone goes mad for the yg. Never understood why. |

Was offered this watch just before the JW hype and declined. Too loud for me, but amazing how the hype has inflated its grey market 'value'! My dealer struggled to get it sold!

Then reality sets in. Being discontinued is not a criteria for values.

There are dozens and dozens of discontinued Rolex models. Always the same story. Ref number or dial gets discontinued, Grey prices go to the moon, time passes, and then realization sets in. In my personal opinion we have a looooooooong way to go before we see any "real and stable" price significance with 6 digit Rolex references discontinued. Not enough time has passed to truly know. A lot of 6 digit models come to mind that had there moment in the sun and faded.

They look to have levelled a bit at 70K GBP/85K USD for 2021/2022 unworn. Anyone see them coming down much more, i.e. pre discontinued pricing?

I bet they will. Everyone wants the “hot” new piece. Eventually what was once hyped fades as people focus their attention on the next new thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

100% it will go further down. Saw some but few pieces sold slightly above $100k On day of discontinuation.
If the demand for this model at that sort of pricing is high, they would have continue going much higher than $100k since it’s a red hot investment piece as mentioned by almost all dealers. But the reality is it has fallen and sales have been slow like a snail. Other PM Daytonas are sitting on the display shelves of my local grey dealers… for weeks and nothing much is sold. |

I think if you really love this watch, $75k for BNIB seems like a good price.

To me it looks like they've settled at 70K GBP / $85K USD for 2021/2022 NEW and they are selling at that |

They’re not selling on C24, the number on offer goes up almost daily. Doesn’t seem like much of anything is moving. Grey market definitely in recession.
Auction market has made an about face also from bidders paying ridiculous prices over even grey market prices to now a lot of lots going no bid. Watching one now where blue Sky D is no bid. Unthinkable a year ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
