Go for something that is different in as many ways as possible so the new purchase doesn't take anything away from the Explorer and neither becomes the obvious choice to wear.

Different style - eg chronograph or diver
Different colour face - white or colour
Different strap - makes it feel as different as it looks
Different manufacturer - Omega would be the obvious choice for a similar quality level

Considering the same thing myself and the white face Speedy or a non-black Planet Ocean are top of my list. Both have the same timeless quality feel as your Explorer. The Speedy also has the same slightly tenuous historical link on its side. In real life the 300m feels like a cheap toy in comparison to the PO.

Been into the AD today and asked to be considered for the batman, starbucks and polar explorer. I talked to the same sales lady who got me my explorer. Fingers crossed.

Popped into the omega shop opposite and really liked the summer blue seamaster on strap and the summer blue planet ocean. Will definitely have to consider one of those.

Went into the breitling shop around the corner and tried the superocean heritage B01 chronograph in a kind of icy blue. Lovely colour but too thick for me.

Rolex and omega were both really busy, full of people looking and buying. Breitling was completely empty.

Great watches mate. Black dial, silver bracelet was my mental image of 'what a watch looks like' growing up. Must have been because of my dads watch.

I think the explorer would pair extremely well with any GMT on jubilee bracelet or you can also consider Explorer II polar which is directly opposite IMO, Considering outside Rolex? A Tudor GMT will be a good pair too.

If you don’t have a Daytona, get one. Doesn’t matter what else you have
