Never really got why the Milgauss was a thing... I mean the dials and look were okay. But to tout that your watch will withstand lots of gauss is like trying to get credit for what you're supposed to do. Omega been doing it for a long time and they don't have a specific model to tout it.

Seems like Rolex was taking credit for their early work pioneering high field watches. Doesn't seem like a total surprise.

I really liked the one from a few years ago with the black dial.

I liked the quirkiness of it. Lightning hand, green crystal edge. Had it, sold it, won't miss it though. There is a lot to like.

RIP.

I can see why some would like it, but to me it's just a fat OP. Never even wanted to try one on. There's no real need for it since everything is anti-magnetic today.

Perhaps Rolex is 'pausing', so in 2024 they will launch a new model that is METAS certified :)

Didn’t they have a watch that was called the “>15,000 Gauss”?

Given that it's tool purpose was usurped by every Rolex with an antimagnetic/amagnetic hairspring, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Again, it's the Rolex claim to being a pioneer in the antimagnetic watch game. It's an historical name. I don't believe that Dodecamilgauss runs of the tongue quite as well.

I love mine. I understand why it was discontinued however.

It was a cool funky original watch in the lineup. Would’ve been cool to have it updated in some way to uphold some science themed items and keep the name as a sort of heritage type thing.

It won't be gone long. It's just coming back in the same case with crown guards as the new Air King.

I would quite like one but it’s blue looks quite similar to datejust albeit with the green splash. It’s quite a thick, chunky watch understandably but the tech just doesn’t cut it anymore with competitors leaving it for dust. I’m a physicist by training so would quite like one but it was always quite overpriced imho. Meh.

I remember when the Platinum dial 40mm Yachtmaster was discontinued recently. Glad I didn’t buy on the pop.

The Milgauss was never popular. Not the 6541, nor the 1019, nor the 116400. They were all low sellers.

It will be back with a new reference number. Rolex just can’t let it go.

Happy to have mine....the orange markers are kind of unique and the orange lightning bolt seconds hand.

I've always liked the white dial w/orange accents Milgauss reference. Funky, cool watch.

Milgauss Discontinued

I would have thought the Air-King would go before the Milgauss. Maybe Rolex will release a new design down the line. The Milgauss and all the meteorite Daytonas being discontinued were the biggest surprises of the night.

The white dial Milgauss’s are the rarest of the 3 colors offered. Black is the most common, then Blue and White.

Currently on Chrono. 498 black dials, 202 blue dials and 88 white dials. I know one AD only received one white dial, but plenty of the others.
