So, that's what one of the "defect dials" looks like. Interesting, but - collectible or not - not for me. ____________________________ TT OysterQuartz SS/Black "U" Daytona TT GMT II-C DD OysterQuartz Brietling Aero Omega Speedmaster Pro |

That was a great write-up, Larry. Thanks for the info!
One question though: you said the daytona is still pressure proof regardless of whether the pusher screwlocks are tight or not. What if the screwlocks are completely unwound? Is it still waterproof? |

Thanks for an awesome review, Larry. I could never understand the hype around the Rolex Daytona. Now I can't wait for my TT 116523 white face to be delivered next week.
I guess that's what you call "growing up" in watch terms !

Hey guys
In your opinion, what is the real size of the Daytona? For me the actual size of it is 38mm because winding crown and chrono buttons shouldn't be included. If you pick a Sub 40mm for example you can see the difference of the size right away! Now if you include the curvature of the case and are not just measuring the edges of the bezel, you get 40mm. But IMHO, even this curvature shouldn't be included. Otherwise a Sub would have 42mm, not 40mm instead. What do you think? That's what I found too... it is actually slightly larger than my Submariner.

Good Evening (or whatever),
I need some help figuring something out. I have a Rolex Oyster Cosmograph in SS, model 6525, which I bought new in 1973 (screw down buttons were important to me then). It is all stainless including the bezel except for the three black dials. My question: I assume it is a Daytona even though that word doesn't appear on the dial the way it does on what seems to be most other models--why not and what does that mean? Thanks, Mike in San Antonio |

Hey guys, first post. What is the criteria for the 120g version listed in the original post? I have a 1997 stainless daytona 116520 U-series and it feels light. Bought it secondhand and had the rolex shop in SF validate it, just a little paranoid I guess.

still, the 1997 daytona I have is so LIGHT. can one of you gents with a 1997 stainless daytona tell me what yours weighs? |

I love this PN Daytona, white with black subdials, but out of price range so I bought Gevril Tribeca, an homage to the PN Daytona and I got white with black sub dials. I understand Gevril even used the same pushers. My Gevril is still new in the box.

This is my second Daytona. I had wanted a SS example, but the dealer called (after 2 years), letting me know he had a SS/gold one.... so I took it. That was in the early '90's. Now, after all these years...
It's still a great watch and the new one keeps way better time than the Zenith example. |

It would be entirely aseom if you put a crystall back on the watch to show off the internals...That is what I like about Pateks on some models. That would show nicely. Anyone know of clear crystal backs that we can source?

Hi All,
can any one tell me what this dial is on this Daytona? it's 16520 model, I take it a Zenith Movement with it being 1995? I've read the dial info, and I'd say a Mark IV dial, but is that a later 90's dial? TIA |

Definitely a ZENITH movement.
Pre 1998 so 1995 would make sense Pretty sure not a MK IV dial, more like a MK2 Adam
