Got mine 3 days ago, loving it!
Quick question: had 2 links taken off and I just realised they took 2 off from the bottom half of the strap instead of 1 each (top & bottom). It feels ok but my question is - is it because they couldn't take from the top part or them being lazy? |

I was in the same position with exactly the same choice a couple of years ago.
I was leaning towards the Yachmaster before I went in and I tried both watches on. For me (with puny wrists) the GMT actually sat better (and more fully) on my wrist. ie more of the back of the watch sat on my wrist. Whereas with the YM the middle of the back of the watch sat on my wrist but its edges were raised from my wrist. I went with the BLNR because of that. |

First Rolex GMT II or Yacht Master ?
i own both of them and they are totally different watches in every way. The BLNR is a sportier watch and the YM is a dressier watch. Complications are different , materials are different and case sizes are different. The YM wears lighter , flashier and smaller. It is not a small watch and it doesn't look small by any means but it feels totally different. I love them both for different reasons .
The YM is closer to the flashiness of the TT bluesy you wanted. Money wise the new retail YM is more ($11,550) and the BLNR 8,950 but on the used or grey market pricing reverses. The BLNR approaches 11 K and the YM is around 9k . I bought mine used in mint condition box and papers and 50 months left on the warranty for $8500 . Just food for thought. |

Have both the BLNR and a circa 2001 Bluesy and love both. Go with whatever you like more!

My 1st was a YM1 35mm slate dial which I bought when I was 22 new. It was my only Rolex until 2012, than I sold it. I did not get another one until summer of 2014. I got a 40mm platinum w/ platinum dial Rolex M-series which had the flip lock clasp and Rolex, Rolex, Rolex in the dial, like modern watches. Than shortly after I got my wife a 2004 35mm with platinum dial to match mines. Summer of 2016 I purchased a 2008 YG YM2 116688 with the gold hands for $28k w/ box and papers. I now have 3 Yacht-Masters and one of them is a 16610 w/ LV insert and the other is a gold supper diamond master piece. I am now planning to get everyone that is in my household and family a Yacht-Master.

Could someone please tell me if the yachmaster “fits” smaller than the Gmt root beer please? I have a small wrist and the yachmaster fit me perfectly but I like the root beer better aesthetically. Thanks

I know everyone chooses the watch for them for different reasons, for me, I would go for the GMT for three reasons:
1. I travel, and I would use the GMT hand constantly. I have two GMTs and a Sub which I rotate through every Sunday. When I’m traveling while wearing the Sub I always miss the GMT hand. 2. The GMT is harder to get (at least, I believe it is). That alone isn’t a big driver to buy one, but because I very rarely see one worn it’s always a reason for me to ask someone about their watch. In my mind, rarity equals conversation starter, which is appealing to me. 3. I personally like the black and blue combo, it’s sporty and instantly classic. This, ultimately, is how I choose watches, the first two points are just added bonuses. All that said, I wouldn’t kick the YM out of bed...or, uh, my watch winder. |

BLNR on Jubilee Bracelet win's for me. I love mine but very difficult to get from AD and gray market price is absurd.

Because you will be wearing in the office and in a suit the YM 116622 is the better choice in my opinion. The YM also has a slimmer profile so it will fit under a cuff.

The 2 tone blue sub is a good choice. Dont buy into the hype if you really dont like the model.

I just traded in my yacht master 116622 Blue dial today for the all black 116710LN, the yacht master dial is beautiful but side by side looks so small as the bezel being the same colour as the bracelet just blends in, far more wrist presence I thought with the gmt and still has the pcl bling of the yachtmaster, I'm certainly much happier with the gmt

The YM will be easier to find at MSRP than the BLNR.
I prefer the BLNR but would say it’s because of the GMT function, which I use. I boat, but a regatta timer hasn’t been necessary because I don’t race. That YM is beautiful. You really can’t go wrong here. |

I have both the BLNR on a jubilee band and the platinum dial YM2. I love them both and wear both weekly. The BLNR gets more attention from others when I wear it, but the YM is slightly sleeker and prettier with nicer lines overall. Especially with the blue face it will make a stunning daily wear.
