My 1665 :(
I once had a beloved 1665 I bought it from a Diver in the mid 80s for around $600. Hard times came about and my FireFighter salary wasn't cutting it I doubled my money and sold it for $1200. I regret doing that but every day I strap on my Y series 16600 reminds just how sweet the SD is.

My Grandfather and great grandfather were both watch repairmen. As well, they both built clocks. A lot of history. I was fortunate to receive most of the old and old old tools for watch repair and although I have not a clue, I find myself tooling around with the many gadgets and certainly find them interesting. I also inherited a number of pocket watches along with thousands of parts....Most of the pocket watches came from my great great grandfather mostly watches that were never picked up from the clients. My grandfather collected an assortment of wrist watches. My favorite is the Sea Dweller 1970. I probably shouldn't wear the watch but can't help myself. The weight and size makes it irresistible. Love reading the history of this particular watch as it adds to the intrigue....

Thanks for sharing. This is great historical information. I'm wondering if any testing along similar lines were done in development of the Milgauss. Also, I wonder what happened with the space program and how Rolex lost out to Omega in being officially certified for NASA missions. If anyone has any insight into that I would love to learn. Thanks again guys.
