Best deal in the game if you have the wrist for it. Same when I bought mine back in 2018. Traded a submariner + cash and still saved thousands. Awesome watch for the $$$, that's why I almost gave up on the SD4k so many times, nothing else really compares for the price. Hopefully I'm not driving down anyone's price here, but you could probably message some private sellers 9k offers on a 126660 and they'd take it. I got offers below that from some of the sellers and a whole lot more not interested at all.

Gladly, here’s a few from over the years. It is definitely a legend at 320k. Mostly sits around and leaks oil, but I still take it for a cruise on occasion. My 100 series gets all the abuse these days, this one is basically retired.








That last one is so old it’s from pre-smartphone days!

What people have to understand about the DSSD is you need to flat out accept and embrace it’s a tank. It’s not a Sub replacement, it’s not (typically) a daily, it’s a beast of a diver that pushed the envelope of depth limits. If you accept that it’s an amazing, beautiful watch. I think some people just get turned off from it as Rolex has always been a conservative brand when it comes to sizing.

See your one angle, is WHY I bought the DSSD. I wanted my 16600 as an ‘everyday’ diver and the DSSD as my bada** diver. If that makes sense haha.

got mine in 2012, did wear it 7/7 365 since that. Freediving, tennis, soccer, running, everyday life, no problem at all. Imho the problem with the Deepsea (fun fact: why people continue to call it Deep Sea or DeepSea, it' "Deepsea") it's the "image", the way people look at it thinking about a monster, but (and here's the point) if it's sized at the last mm you simply don't feel the dimensions (and... it's not a Deepsea Challenge, obviously if you usually wear watches like Nautilus for sure you feel something different, but not another planet from a classic Rolex 40mm sport watch)

This is wild, I read your article and looked at your photos dozens of times throughout my process. It really helped convince me to take the plunge I went back and forth on the decision a lot, as I said I liked the Deepsea, and the last time I had tried on a SD4K was about 10 years ago, there were none anywhere close for me to try on before purchase so I really relied on online accounts of the watch. Yours was great.





The red date wheel looks really nice as well, we don't see enough watch mods IMO. I saw this one the other day with a bead blasted ceramic bezel and really like it, it really dials the "bling" back to 5 digit levels and would be great for a daily wear watch
