I bought my Rolex to wear and enjoy. However, I do not think that I will be mountain climbing with it on anytime soon.

Anything that can sit on old JJ's gorilla arm for more than a year before being flipped has my admiration, maybe Rolex should use him in their adverts.
Rolex tough enough to stand the embarrassment of chocolate and banana photo shoots, being shown naked after a bath, and given nicknames like platty. Coping with JJ gnashers grinning 24/7 without any anti glare protection. I think it would be a sales winner |

I work as a project manager for a commercial construction company. I work out of a field office five days a week and am constantly on site. My GMTIIc takes anything and everything I throw at it.
I voted to take it to the extreme.

Well I do not think I could EVER push the DSSD I wear or even the SD
hiding on my winder to its extremes BUT I wear it and I don't worry about it getting scratched every second. I own lots of old arcade games etc (family ent. center) and I am always sticking my hand in some dark machine where I cant see what I am doing, I do not wear about my watch BUT I would not do that with a Gold watch and its also why I don't and wont buy a Rolex "Tool Watch" with polished center links. In many ways I think this is a mistake as they are taking their tool watches and making them in to fashion pieces. They were one of the few higher end companies whose SS watches you didn't fear using in the real world.

I build waste incineration and my work can be very hands on. I wore my EXP2 for many years in this environment. Apart from numerous scratches and a few dents this watch has survived admirably only having stopped once when it received a hit of sufficient force to shatter the crystal. Over the last few months since it's last service this watch has been pampered. I am now installing a plant in Indonesia and even purchased a cheap Seiko chrono to use as a site watch. However since I now have several other watches that can be pampered I have given up on the Seiko and am again using the EXP2 as a daily site watch. If it gets damaged I'll have it fixed.

Working in my shop where there are lots of bumps, shocks and magnetics, i take my rollie off and use a shop clock to keep track of time. Ya maybe its engineered to take some abuise but at the end of the day its kinda $$ and i dont see the point of wearing a luxury watch in a shop environment to see if the watch can "take it".
Rollies were designed as tough watches back in the day when getting a wristwatch wet was a bad thing. nowadays a sport digital quartz is tough as nails and expendable too. My rollies aint expendable. |

I wear my Sub every day to work so its a user but I definetely baby it by being very careful not to bump or scratch or it. I continuously polish it to wipe of any marks etc, which is pretty obsessive. But then its a new watch and I guess over time I will become more relaxed wearing it.

I baby my AK, and my TT Date. I give them a nice hot bubble bath after wearing, and a night they get slipped into a nice comfy plastic storage container and go night night in a safe. Yes I know, I'm OCD.

I am a diver. A treasure hunter. I spend most of my time in Libraries researching and a goodly amount of time on board, and under the water. I have worked and still do work several treasure dives for various individuals and companies. My Sd gets losts of abuse> I recal using a air dredge that while trying to push sand through to the nozzle, my Sd got torn off and sucked up the pipe. Found it in the riffle box attached to the end. Got some good scars from that one. Repined the bracelet, stuck it back on and proceeded to get myself jammed under a coral ledge (the arm anyways) so some serious pushing and pulling and voila out came the arm and the watch. More scratches that you could shake a stick at.
My son who was only three at the time took my Sd off the table and tossed it across the room in the basement against the concrete wall. More character dents , but it still keeps ticking , and so on for 18 years til it just stopped. It was in service, RSC asked about the "wear marks" and I told them that I use their wacthes, they are not a status symbol but a tool, and like my other tools, i WORK THEM HARD. Perhaps that may be why they fixed the bracelet for free, because it was badly stretched, scratched, and abused, and it came back like it was new. Rolex sport wacthes are built like tanks, are ten feet tall and bullet proof. Cant go wrong owning one. |

I don't generally do stuff that would be considered extreme. Parasailing, swimming, shooting, the hot tub etc. are all in. But, I wear mine every day, no exceptions. But its nice to know it will take anything I can dish out and more!!!
