OMEGA make a superb watch - excellent value for money. But resale on them sucks.
Owned several over my watch wheeling and dealing years!!

Would agree, the resale value on Patek's Aquanauts and Nauticas are better than Rolex. At least that is what I saw in Asia.
Also, some of the Panerai models have very good resale value. The other thing to consider is this as well, many other Swiss Watches, you can buy at 25% to 40% off retail. Where as with Rolex, 10% is about as good as you can get. But generally overall, Rolex watches will sell easier. This I think has to do with the general public acceptance and knowledge of Rolex being the best in their minds. There are many other watch companies that make far superior watches compared to Rolex, but unless you are a WIS, you will not recognize this - thus a smaller portion of the population as potential buyers. |

JJ The 45 orange goes great with a orange Ralph Lauren polo and blue jeans. Its a fantastic watch well worth the cost I've gotten a lot of compliments on mine.

I really like this watch, although I prefer the black bezel version. The 45.5mm watch becomes light when you put a leather or rubber strap on it. Most of the weight is in that metal bracelet.

True JJ, but if you shop around you can get up to 30% off from an AD, so the actual money you loose is about the same.

It is not only possible, but a desperate AD will go as high as 40% on a NOS model which simply refuses to sell. JJ

compare -
I wear a Planet Ocean - Super Avenger - and now a GTM-II (among many others) - just thought this shot would be good for everyone to compare.
I find the rolex very small and light - but looks great and is classic, and I don't always want something heavy. the breitling is HUGE and draws A LOT of attention. So I don't wear it often, but sometimes I am in the mood to. The 44mm Planet Ocean is the perfect in-between for me. But many of my friends think it's too large/heavy for them. |

p.s. I think you got the size wrong at 44...you meant 45.5 but even that is in-between those two others you got so its a very good comparison pic |

not 44mm
yes, you're right
45.5 MM the breitling is 48.5 and about twice as thick. I always say if someone trys to steal it, I'll knock 'em out with it! |

Hate to bring this old thread back to life but I love the orange bezel on that PO JJ. Great looking watch and nice review. I am a big fan of Omega.

I was thinking of trading up the 2254 when these came out, but I just can't part with my 2254.
I guess I'll just have to add to the stable... |
