One happy story, one sad.
My farther passed away last Sept, must admit we never saw eye to eye over the years. but i am sure he still thought of me. With hindsight we should have been more close, but what is done is done, you can't turn the clock back. He left a little money to myself, brother and sister, and must admit i did not want the money, but family said i should have it. So i decided to buy a DJ2 twotone with the money, my first and only Rolex to date. My dad was a watchmaker by trade, so i thought a more fitting stribute to the man was to buy this watch. Love the watch, and when i wear it i feel i have some conection with my late dad. Think i am getting siily in old age. Cherish your family, dont let family arguments fester for years, no one wins in the end.. |

The love between a father and son is so important. Your story is a fine example. The watch will mean more to him than you can ever realize. Wonderful story.

Thanks mate.
Seems like the love and owning of a Rolex has more meaning than just a watch.. So many stories of why fellow members own a Rolex, some sad, some happy, always a reason why.. |

Thank you for sharing your heartfelt story with us. We do not see enough of these around and personally, I love reading them.
I am sure your Father will be over-the-moon excited and happy when he receives it. It is great that you were able to overcome your life's struggle and remember the man who was there for you during that time. Very admireable! Make sure you post some wrist shots of your GMT with his!

And to Hollywood, my deepest condolences especially since my father is of the same age. I just flew into town and surprised my dad when he got home since I still have house keys. I'm anxious to give him the watch, I think I'll do it this evening at dinner. |
