That is brilliant.
Wouldn’t that be an easy catch for Rolex if they really cared? (Which I don’t believe for a second they do). |

Firstly, i passed on the one i was offered much earlier this year. Secondly i'm not savy about posting pics and on reflection couldn't be bothered anyway. No doubt about it though, there's a bit of a drought of hot SS Rolex watches |

Just not very much as it stands. There's also the distribution model as well as individuals, that plays a part too. |

I was thinking of getting a Submariner next year to align with a career milestone, seems like I should put my name down now and probably still won't get one in Aus! :(

What really annoys me is that every Rolex dealer on the planet knows that there is a supply issue, especially with models like the Daytona and yet they still have the audacity to stick an advert in magazines and promotional material like this photo I took when I was visiting Port Douglas recently.
Suggesting that you could just walk into your local store and walk out a few minutes later with a chrono on your wrist. If a supermarket advertised products and services they couldn't provide they would be done for misleading advertising. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

Is there even an AD at Alice Springs, I thought that place was just a big rock in the middle of that overgrown desert island they call Australia.

To the OP.
This year I had a expression of interest in for a DJ41 for like 3m. I asked about switching to the 126710BLNR instead as clearly the DJ waitlist was insane now as well. I was dealing with the store manager who I knew since they were a sales assistant over many years and who had a very good rapport with. To my surprise about 6 weeks later I got the call for the BLNR. BUT I have a good purchase history with them, 3 Rolex sport models and 3 of another watch brand over about 8 years. Pretty much the vibe I got from them was if I didn't have this history there was ZERO chance of me getting the BLNR and that they do have a store policy of rewarding repeat customers with a hot Rolex piece - when they can.

Asked at a Sydney AD about getting a Hulk next year. Was told that is doable. Of course, I have a decent relationship with them. Certainly have not spent anywhere near the top spenders, but for some strange reason they seem to like me.

With limited dealers and a big geography not always easy to establish the much vaunted dealer relationship. I travel about the country a good deal despite regional base and in the past two years the shelves have been ever more bare. Yet one steps out of Melbourne airport to be greeted by massive billboards proclaiming Kennedy’s rolex dealership. After reading the qantas magazine in the lounge of course where you will find each month on the cover picture of something totally unobtainable.
Having purchased a Sub date in 2014 in a Cairns AD which closed down, I tried re-establishing a retail history with a Milgauss and a DJ. Chance of getting on W/L for the stuff we all seek...... zero. Turned away everywhere for a W/L for Daytona. Heard nada from w/l fro sky dweller. Lovely white face Daytona ceramic tried in a gray .....32 AUD. No offers. Seems the wrong time to be outlaying cash at a time a big market correction may be due. |

SS Sports Australia
The lack of SS Rolex’s currently (at least to normal buyers) is insane. There were zero available in multiple ADs throughout Singapore, Greece and Italy. I keep thinking surely it won’t last as it has to be putting the general public off, but it must be working for Rolex so maybe not.
A local AD here in Australia said to come in and I can fill out an expression of interest form and be put on the waitlist for a submariner. They couldn’t give any indication of timeframe due to the popularity of the model - whether that means I’ll even be on a waitlist or not I’m not sure. Only buying history with them is a Cartier ballon bleu for my wife a few years back. I’ll probably buy her a Date or DJ as an anniversary present late next year. I’ve always wanted a submariner but not badly enough to pay way above retail etc. I must say my Omega buying experience was far more straight forward! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It seems strange that there is year long wait for watches from a company that destroys watches. That is all.
