My thoughts exactly. I’ve always had a hard time wearing it daily for this reason. My job requires me to sign and date documents throughout the day, and I need a date on my watch. I know that I could check my phone but glancing at my wrist is much easier.

I’m getting one this week but I regularly wear my 6241 and 6263 Daytona’s. This new one is my “safe daily” watch!

Enjoy it, no point leaving it in the safe.
You can always have it serviced on back to brand new condition, assuming wear & tear bother you. I wear my 116520 almost daily, it's a great all rounder.

Go for it! The Ceramic is very versatile. I used to daily my Steel Daytona for 5 years. Switches up to a GMT.

I can’t understand buying a watch and not wearing it. Why not just print up a picture and look at it if you aren’t going to wear it? Sure would save a lot of money...

That's ok you're not wearing it, put it aside for your son to enjoy it in mint condition, since you are going to pass it down to him anyway

If my father handed me a mint condition watch from 20 years ago, I'd be afraid to wear it. If it had been worn and enjoyed for those 20 years, I'd send it off for service -- requesting it NOT be polished -- and wear the daylights out of it. |

Wear that watch everyday! That is my favorite combo Daytona. When you pass it down, you kid will be able to say...”My old man wore this everyday and look at how it still runs like a champ”. What a testiment for the brand. I wear a coda 1971 model 1601 TT DJ everyday.
If your not going to wear it, don’t buy it... |

Rolex left hand. Fitbit right hand
Rolex’s are for wearing. IMHO. I wear a smaller Fitbit so it really does not look like I am wearing two watches.

I’m wearing mine now. White dial. It’s grown on me. Though yesterday I was wearing my black 6263 sigma and sometimes my white exotic Paul Newman 6241.

I always will wear a watch - for the last 25 years it has been a Rolex. Fit bits came along and I needed to wear one of those too. On my right wrist it went.
I wear an Alta. Looks more like a bracelet. Wear your Rolex everyday, and plan on giving it to your son. He will wear it every day too.

If you are not going to enjoy wearing it, that would be a sad waste of money.
Not to mention the non-use would be a slight to the incredibly talented designers and technicians who went to so much effort to create these fine and unique little machines. Enjoy it while you have it and the heck with any minor wear it will incur! |

It’s a beautiful watch. Got mine a week ago, after mulling it over between an Aquanaut. No regrets. Chose it for the bulletproof reliability.

Wear it and enjoy it.
Your son may end up not liking watches or not liking that specific one. |

I suspect kids in the future will treat a hand-me-down mechanical wristwatch much like we would treat a pocket watch handed down by a late grandfather. A curiosity and nothing more.
Check out the YouTube clip where young kids see a record player for the first time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-XdK8aq00g |

I wear mine everyday. It has some scratches on the bracelet. When my kid gets the watch, it will mean that much more knowing that I wore it everyday. All those scratches are life.
