Rolex will also now be pricing in guineas in the UK. It had to happen.

Rolex prices are generally too low for what you get in my opinion. They could increase 10, 15 or even 20 and I don’t think it would make much difference right now.

A 20% hike would certainly kill off all those that want one just because its a Rolex!

I was in Koln last week and the prices there are very high in comparison...5% wont stop anyone though.

Right now you have the British pound which is just a paper currency like Zimbabwe, USA, Russia, Venezuela, China, etc.. When it was the British pound sterling, the value was based on a pound of sterling silver. So look up how much a pound of sterling silver 'costs', and that's how much a British pound should be worth.

Know Thy Currency History!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pound_sterling

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/...british-pound/

So if your currency had real value, actual value, then it might one day be called money. But now, all you have is a currency.

If they had a 20% increase but you could actually buy SS models everybody would be happy

Yes but that’s not what they want. If models became abundantly available, interest drops!! It’s human psychology my friend!
People “hoed” at time of shortage and spend at time of ease! So they still have the carrot and we are still following. The minute they feed the carrot people won’t follow!!

There was a 3% increased on Rolex, 6% on AP and 5% on PP early of the month in Malaysia.

Really? Then why are all Datejusts and PM sports watches sold at a discount?

There are only a relatively few number of SS Rolex professional models that could sustain an increase like that with no loss of demand.

Why are all the Sub, GMT and Daytona sold out?

I don’t see the sense in a 5% price correction when the price difference between the UK & and the Euro zone is more like 11%.

But none of that matters if one is after a Professional model.

All this really does is give the grays a new price point to raise their existing stock to.

Men’s DJs and now even a lot of PM models are no longer being discounted in the UK.

Picked up a new GMT at my AD today (posted elsewhere) and, having read this thread this morning, I asked about it. They said they were unaware of any imminent price rises and certainly not been told of anything that is happening on 1 October.

AD’s and Greys are collectively trying to boost demand before Christmas / Holidays.

Let’s all rush out and buy now before the prices go up...

I picked up my GMT LN yesterday from an AD in Kent, and they also mentioned that Rolex are increasing prices by 5% on 1st Oct. Will wait and see in a week!

The increase in the UK has been a long time coming. 5% is a fairly small increase if you ask me. There could very likely be another not far down the road.

I really can't blame Rolex for raising prices, it would be bad business not to. But it would be nice if they had some merchandise to sell and to raise the price on.
