I made sure to work with one specific person for all my needs after that point (my own pretty woman moment).

That was at Omega in Massachusetts. When they closed down, I was bummed out. I lost all the ‘preffered customer status’ I built up over the years.

The issue is this is the same theme we get on a monthly basis. Someone young wishes to buy a Rolex. That’s great but then the unrealistic parts start coming out. You guys just can’t see when you are being trolled. Sad really.

What really is sad is that you come and insult members that are trying to help me out. Why would I waste my time trolling on a Rolex forum? I am trying to get help, if you not here to help then have a good day. I will reply to most people individually when I have time tomorrow. Thanks guys. I'm not trying to disrespect you, but it goes both ways.

Now we're getting somewhere. I'll repeat my earlier question: have your parents consented to you allocating $2000 of your assets to purchase a luxury watch?

I'd save up a $3K to $4K more and you'll have a lot more options and you'll be a lot happier.

Also, I can't wait for a paycheck or anything like that because I can not get a job yet. If anyone could help me out that would be great. If I cannot get a Rolex, is Tudor my next best option? I tried to post a message like this but it didn't so up so I hope this one will.

Thanks, Adam.
Adam check eBay seller purewatches they have great deals. They come with really nice aftermarket signed bracelets refinish perfect dials. Legit

Seems as though you may have missed most of this thread. TL;DR - your failure to read the thread before commenting isn't a good look in this case.

Wow you must come from a fairly well of family. At 13 I didn't even know what a Rolex is, have $2000 or understand the concept of luxury items. Pretty sure all I wanted was a good pair of basketball shoes to play in.

Tudor is a good surrogate, with its own flair and style. I guess the question is why you would want a Rolex now as it appears maybe not the best time for you to buy one. There are plenty of great watches at or below the $2000 range - Oris, Sinn, Nomos, Longines, Seiko, etc,. Pre-owned Omega, IWC, etc.
Hey, thanks for the information. I don't really have anything in mind, I am just doing research right now.

Sorry I didn''t reply to your earlier question, I've had a lot of schoolwork and have obviously been at school most of the day haha. I talked to them about it and they pretty much said that I could get it but this wouldn't be a common occurance per say. Also, they don't want me selling any of my investments but as I said I wouldn't need to if I could get one under 2k. Thanks.

Also, I know some people were asking me this, the minimum age to get I think any job in Ohio is 14 years old and that is when you can get a work permit.

Adam Brian, I for one am glad that you have interest in Rolex watches. As I said there are watches in the sub $2K range. They are at the smaller size of the men's appropriate sized watches. Specifically the 6694 which is a manual wind watch and had an very long run with in Rolex. If actually hoping to collect Rolexes it would be a watch I'd want (and do have) in my collection. It's not a bad entry Rolex.

Again here is an example from this forum. I've seen other similarly priced on the net. Mine was one of the last made from the late 80s. This one is from the sixties but IIRC it has been serviced recently.

Hi Adam:

I would target a Rolex Air King model 5500 - or a 14000 if you can wait for the right deal. These are great watches to wear now and into the future - as long as you don’t need a date on the dial.

Good luck - enjoy the hunt!

Don't buy it yet. Keep on saving your money until it's not a stretch for you, and you can get a piece you truly want. The watches will always be there!

Must be a misunderstanding; policing would have been making a corrective suggestion. I was merely making an observation.

Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Thanks for all of the information guys. I found a good deal on an Omega Seamaster that I bought. I decided that I could wait to get a nice Rolex that I wanted. I will post pictures of the watch when it arrives. I did take this into consideration for a while though.

Awesome! Congrats! You should also post some incoming pics in the Omega section, too, to share with the Omega fans.

Just wait on when you're ready but if you must get a watch the you should look into the Tudor family (maybe used) that could serve.

It's not policing so much as stating the obvious. If it was just you, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it is a given that a significant percentage of thread responders don't read far enough in to keep up with the conversation, which makes their comments irrelevant. Case in point in this thread, OP has already decided on an Omega, but we still have people replying as though he were still considering dropping $2k on a Rolex. It gets tiresome after a while, especially when you consider that we get notified of each reply. Rather than bristling at being called out, perhaps you can see the merit in the criticism and learn from it.

Given your writing level, I'm surprised you can tell.
