My Explorer and a gold stainless Apple Watch are the perfect pair for me.

I have found the best 2-watch pairing with the Explorer 36mm is the Cartier Santos Medium.
It is similar in size but pretty much opposite in every other conceivable way!

Something on a leather strap from lange, patek, VC or JLC depending on budget.

I would second that.
Second piece to pair a metal bracelet watch should preferably be something on leather.

I have a sub and the Santos is pretty much the only other watch I am drawn to. So classic and different.
