Definitely. I'm sure I am not the only one that thinks it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hahahahhaha looks like we have a lot in common my friend. Half the fun of getting these watches is to see what’s the best price you can get them for.

I do not. Ever.

I expect to be taken care of on trades etc, and I expect to be given a fair price on purchase. I don’t appreciate people negotiating with me for my services

This is why I haven’t in the past. I hate when people “grind” me for every last cent when I’m selling something.

That being said, I feel like I shouldn’t always pay full asking too. It’s a difficult balance I think.

I don’t feel good if I “steal” something from someone but I know a lot of people think of it as a game or victory.

You dont negotiate on houses or cars and just pay full asking prices on them? LOL

I dont think so. These watches cost more than cars these days so not doing it is naive on your part.

Your assumption to be given a "fair" price by a sales person who gets commission is being very naive.

Why would a person pay more than necessary? If they ask 10k and I want it but only at 9k then I make that offer. It's not chiseling or squeezing, it's just being smart with money. More often than not we settle on less than asking so anyone who just pays asking everytime is overpaying. Any dealer who is so fragile that they are offended by a reasonable offer under asking is in the wrong line of work.

I think you’re overthinking things. You’re not ever stealing from a grey if you get what you think is a good price. With most sales between two individuals the buyer and seller reach a price that both parties are happy with.
The next time someone a seller says they are losing money on an offer that the buyer made, flip it and try to sell them something and see if they offer you a high price.
Basically if you have an idea of what the market price is you should be able to reach an agreeable price where both parties are happy.
