I get it:
1). Barilla saw the video and told Fed: " We are paying you, and WE WANT YOU TO DO THIS COMMERCIAL or else, WE WILL DROP YOU"

and Fed said: " yea IM scared, LET ME DO THE COMMERCIAL before I lose your endorsement". I cant live off my money from Uniglo (300 Mil) , Rolex, Credit Suisse,. and my career tennis earnings..

:
so: Does he endorse his brands every chance he gets? OFC he does! Why not? They are good brands and he GETS paid, Yes agreed.

Does he TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING GOOD WITH HIS STAR POWER? ---> yes. he DOES. As eviddenced here. Are the GIRLS outlook and demeanor better for a month, year or whenver? Yes It IS!.

He is sending them to the Nadal academy and judging by the way they were hitting that ball..they have a future, great one.
So, did he do Good here? Yea, he is sending them to the Academy. Is it paid for by Barilla? Yea maybe. And so? He hjust made the future bright for 2 young girls... and? thats bad? Chill out with a bowl of pasta?
hmmm ok..:)

Boggles my mind how naive some people are. Some actually thought Federer was just “being a great guy” and some thought he was acting as a “great ambassador for the brand” — not even catching onto the brand for which he was actually shilling.

If Omega offered him more money than Rolex, he would switch endorsements in a heartbeat. In fact, he already proved as much when he dumped Nike in favor of Uniqlo’s fatter paycheck.

1). Omega offered him more money?---> what makes you think they havent? What makes you not think that he loves Rolex more than Omega ?

2) Naive? yes he was "SHILLING" Barilla, and they brought a team to do the commercial..of course, they did.

3)., yea, 'he is just great guy": of course he is NOT a great guy. He just does things for the MONEY: No relation to heart or giivng the girls some future.

https://www.rogerfedererfoundation.o...e-are/mission/

Like that foundation is just for being a "BAD " ambassador...:)

and OMG LOOK: https://www.rogerfedererfoundation.o...ding-partners/

The brands he endorses are USING HIM for MONEY and NOT doing ANY good...
now, we all been duped...all along, Federer is a;ways been a BAD guy..:)

Another thought"
1),. Imagine in 2 years or so , the girls DO so well in academy, they start winning tournaments====> Go pro--------> Wins pro games------> The publicity and the power of having this background and having fed as your "Godfather", any arena you go to, you will be the favorite">...

I would watch that..:)

I don’t care if he personally loves Rolex, Omega, or Vincero. All I FACTUALLY pointed out was that visiting those girls was not his idea, he was paid to do so, and the job of a celebrity/sports endorser is to represent your brand partner well.

Did he love Nike more than Uniqlo? Does he love Uniqlo more than Nike? Who knows or cares?

One company paid him before... and another company pays him now. Those facts are indisputable.

Thanks! I enjoy collaborating with advertising and marketing teams, but this misguided video is not something that interests me (although it is sparking an interesting conversation...).

I never realized how many endorsements RF has. I just read about his move from Nike - he's running a business just like any other. He just happens to be reaching the $1Billion mark.

+1 I dont place my admiration on the "famous" of the world. Specially Hollyweird or the sports world. Federer looks like a cool dude, though...

True, visiting those girls was possibly NOT his idea. How can he follow all the events happening?
But the fact is that after the idea was presented to him, he jumped on it enthusiastically and good spirits?

Once again, he was PAID to do so, But COULD HE have refused if he wanted to ? yes, he could, and do you think that Barilla could have done anything if HE REFUSED, even if they are paying him?

Bottom line: he GETS PAID, BUT he is at THIS point in his life he CAN SAY NO every time he does not want to, Money or not.
He did this because it was a very good gesture as well as marketing.
if it WAS Neither of the above and it hurt HIS brand,. EVEN if he GOT paid, do you think HE would do it?

There is NO money in this world that ANY BARILLA or any company that can pay Roger if he did something to hurt his RF brand.

True enough. What I think is the current polarized environment is breeding a form of emotional fascism that is blind to the better nature of the majority of people.

Not fascism in the political sense. In the emotional sense - where no other point of view can possibly have merit.

Agreed. It’s symptomatic of today’s society — where, if you are confronted with facts which don’t support your chosen narrative, you just label them as fake news, offer your “alternative facts,” or bury your head in the sand. Sad.

“Federer did this because he’s a great guy” (despite the incontrovertible evidence to the contrary).

He is a class act! Actually, he is one of the reasons I purchased my DJ41 ... trying to emulate his sense of style. He has a few DJs (DJII Arabic numerals and DJ41 Wimbledon).
