I wouldn't buy one, no date and the double baton hour markers at 3-6-9 looks like Seiko dials eg.snkk07

Off topic, but if you want a silver dial Rolex with a date, check out the DJ silver dial. I picked up a used/vintage 16200 last month with a smooth bezel and Roman numerals. The WG applied Roman numerals on the silver dial are gorgeous. It has the traditional Oyster with brushed center links.

I thought the hands and indices in some SS watches are WG.

I'm pretty sure the hands and hour indices on modern SS models are gold.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct. Hands and hour markers are white gold on all modern steel references, even the steel DJ and OP.

I meant yellow gold.

OP41 silver is the first rolex in history to have gold in the dial in a watch that is not two-tone. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought the silver 41 in 2020 due to the pandemic year having significance down the road and also for what is written above.

I'm not a fan of the brightly coloured dials, but then I'm not a fan of the Mickey Mouse style GMT coloured bezels either, so I'm surely not their target customer these days.

Imagine thinking a year or so back that the Oyster Perpetual line would be one of the hottest in the Rolex stables.

I was considering one because they were flying under the hype radar!!

Imagine thinking ten years ago that you'd have to go on a waiting list for a SS no-date Sub, or pay way over MRRP in a second hand dealers.

So really it's not that strange.

For me it's the double batons on the larger models (and most of the colours) that put me off the new OPs.
I bought an OP39 black, which I love, but would have considered a 36 at the time, if it hadn't been for the 36's double batons.

Nor do I, it’s such a basic model and of no interest at all, might as well be a Tudor!

For me it's the opposite. I'm in the minority that prefers double batons. I would've bought OP39 last year if they came with double batons. Single batons just looks off to me. Now I'm a happy owner of the new OP36.

The silver, blue, and black look good to me. I'm glad I bought mine (39m Rhodium) back when I did.

The clasp sucks on the OP line. The engraved crown looks cheap compared to any other clasp I've seen personally in Rolex.

The clasp on the Sub does not suck. It's a defining and lovely feature enhancing the watch.

This is a big deal for me, since I interact with the clasp a lot, multiple times a day.

OP was a catch and release for me due to this factor.

Now an ox-blood day date would be another story for this WIS!

Not even close. It's a nice watch with a splash of color but nothing more than that.

I just appreciate it for what it is. Not the old or new anything except Oyster Perpetual.

Where might that be? Certainly NOT here in L.A.!

Oyster Perpetual is the new Submariner

Some of them are quite garish. I’m sure they pop in real life but for the money on the open market just no way. A time only novelty watch that’s going for what a sub no date was 2 years ago. Just wow.

Good looking watch at a great value. If you can get msrp, 5900 for this Rolex goes along way.

I'll bite my tongue hope I never see one of these in person. I don't have anything good to say about these bright colored dials.

The new OP41 has a new bracelet that’s an upgrade over prior generations.

I like that the silver model has some Rolex firsts and is unique. Unless they reproduce the style on a datejust at some point I think it’ll be a rarity.

I didn’t care for the double batons but after using it I can appreciate the 3-6-9 markers because it does increase legibility at a glance. Gives it a no nonsense Explorer vibe.

The German silver sunburst dial and yellow gold accents are pretty neat in person. Natural light makes it look really unique compared to other Rolex. It’s sort of vintage inspired but modern with the blue lume and dial finishing. It felt more premium than the sports models I tried but I think it’s because it’s just a newer model with all their bells and whistles and the yellow gold just made it appear more premium. The clasp is great though. It’s surprising how well built it feels for how easy it is to take on and off. And the easy link is very helpful for me.

I wonder if they might refresh the datejusts at some point.

The already dead competition would get even.... deader.
