Jubilee on either.

For me it was always oyster (much prefer no PCL) & actually did not like the GMT being released on jubilee..

Things change :)

The BLNR on oyster didn't do it for me....I sold it after a day. It just looked too much like my 116710LN.

I am curious as to the jubilee to see if it would change my mind.

Jubilee, because that’s what I was offered by my AD.

Howdy,

I would have to say that in isolation, or as a one and only, that I prefer the Oyster.

However, in the confines of a collection that already has disproportionately more Oyster's I'd likely go with the Jubilee. The jubilee on the BLRO works amazingly well in person. It does not photograph as well as the Oyster. As stated the comfort is noticeable.

Take care,

Ruddiger

It's always great when people can put value and masculinity judgments aside. The nicknames are dumb to me, but people can call them what they will.

But this was MY experience. I desperately wanted a BLNR on oyster. That was the only way it was offered at the time. All my watches have oyster bracelets and that is what I wanted for my BLNR.

Then they discontinued the oyster. I thought maybe I could get the jubilee and sell it for an oyster. But I'm not into flipping watches.

THEN, I tried on the jubilee. Game over. It's such a stunner. Feminine? No way. Looks chunky, aggressive and elegant. It's just beyond. Get one on your wrist and then assess. Plus, it is my only jubilee. So, your watch collection helps decide which version you may like in a GMT.

Is the oyster great on BLNR. Undoubtedly. But I now vastly prefer the jubilee. The slightly thinner look with jubilee looks so right. I now find the BLNR with an oyster to look too bulky. When I want an oyster, I put on my 16710. Now that is a watch. The thinner lugs and that oyster just work effortlessly...

I have a sub/date LN for everyday watch and the BLRN on Jubilee would be a nice contrast for dressier times.

Howdy,

I like the Rolex nicknames that started organically and stuck prior to every newbie coming online to be the first to give a bad nickname to every watch made.

That said, I HATED the "Batgirl" nickname from day one (and still do) as it always felt like a derogatory slur to me. While I don't think that is the intent of everyone who uses it, it's never felt like a term of endearment.

Take care,

Ruddiger

Funny, I jumped at the chance to get the BLNR jubilee and now want the oyster.

I love the jubilee bracelet on a DJ, but I find the oyster to be better suited to the sporty nature of the GMT Master. If I was allocated a Pepsi, I'd swap the bracelet as I have a spare 20mm oyster.

Preference for BLNR 2021 - Oyster or Jubilee?

I am hoping to get the oyster if given the opportunity. However, I don’t love it enough to swap out / hand over the jubilee if it came down to that. I can dress it down with my Everest straps if necessary. I work mostly in an office environment so I think the jubilee works fine in that setting.

Edit: I have also tried it with my all brushed glide lock from my 114060 and it looks amazing. I just haven’t got the spring bars to make that work, so I couldn’t actually wear it that way.

Bumping this thread because I wanted to ask the question myself but was certain it had to have been covered already

I wouldn't flame you for that statement, but I would wonder as to why your masculinity feels threatened by a jubilee bracelet???? It's a different bracelet configuration, not a bright pink 35mm dial with a diamond bezel...

lol ain't that the truth.

Never thought of that, but you may have a point. The pepsi colors being more "playful" and thus benefiting from the more stout appeal of the oyster. Well observed.

Same here. The non wis people that I know prefer jubilee on Batman too.

I actually prefer it on jubilee 100% as well after trying it on - unique to have it on a sports watch and separates it from the other models that are mostly oyster, plus it fits the original intent of attire in aviation imo. GMT and jubilee goes hand in hand to me 👍

If it were me, it would depend on how long I plan to keep the watch. I think the look of the jubilee is preferable on this watch, but for longevity, I believe the oyster is going to win out. I choose the oyster because I plan to pass down my watch one day. But if you know you'll part with it < 10 years, I would go for the jubilee.

Jubilee - looks so much better IMO. If the oyster comes in, I guess I will take it and convince myself otherwise lol.

I personally prefer the jubilee band on most Rolex models. I think it simply looks nicer but that is just my personal preference.

If it was my first, and I could NOT choose, I would be happy with either.

If I COULD choose, Jubilee. I like the Jubilee, and I don't like the PCL on the Oyster. If the Oyster was all brushed, it would make the choice tougher, but I think I'd still go Jubilee.

I still don't get "Batgirl." It seems like the ONLY reference nickname that has derogatory connotations.

Agree. Especially for you with a BLRO jubilee. For me, having a different look to my daily 41mm sub date also made the jubilee more desirable.

Amazing photo - love it. Jubilee takes the cake here IMO especially if you only have 1 gmt and differentiates itself more from the smurf or other subs since they can look similar in certain lighting
