Congrats! I personally like the 16610LV more than the SD43, especially when you get one with a green shade that is more 'popping' like the one you got in trade. It's one of the most visually distinctive Rolexes made and one of the coolest colors they have ever used IMO.

Congrats OP! Now go change the signature in your profile!!
I would make sure to source one regardless. Is RSC policy to keep the green if requesting black, or will green be returned? If so, you'll want a watchmaker to remove the green first, and send in w/o insert.

It’s one of those things i read on forums without truly understanding the cult around the SD and now i do understand.””””

Now 4 months later, after all that talk, it’s too heavy.

Just admit, you enjoy the chase more than the watch.

Yeah the chase is fun. I get to learn and experiment with different watches and have fun, you are right.

People are allowed to change their minds in life. You wouldn’t be the only one who bought a new watch, started off thrilled and exuberant only to find months later that the watch wasn’t as exciting anymore.

Hey it happens to me with cars all the time. It hasn’t happened to me with watches yet but i am sure at some point I will look at something in my collection and decide it’s no longer for me.

And on topic, I love the OG Kermit, yours looks great. Put up some more pics!

Congratulations on doing the trade. If you only paid $2k on top of trading your SD43 for a full set 2005 Kermit, you did well on that trade. Kermit is special. Was my first Rolex.

Saw a pre-owned Kermit in the wild for the first time today. Really nice! I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.

It's what you want I have the 6 digit LV and the SD43 and love them both. Your choice. No way to just add the LV?

This is exactly what happened to me. I didn’t really plan to trade even though i was starting to feel uncomfortable with the heft of the SD.

Once i saw the Kermit, i wanted it.

If you can just add the Kermit, do that. If you must trade, I’d go for the Kermit given what you described

Easily SD43. LV is a beautiful watch, well sought, collectible, but it is still just a sub with a green bezel. No more or less.

If you're going to wear it the size and weight will indeed be refreshing.
You already have the latest and possibly best Sub in a very long time. So as a point of great interest to your collection the Kermit would be very nice, especially if you're getting g a little over the SD43.
Then again the latest Kermit C may be appealing as well but the original package Kermit has a nice vibe all around

On balance, I would also very seriously do the trade especially as you couldn't lose long term
Good decision

Well he upgraded the movement to the older generation, plus the LV is an absolute undisputed classic, and (most importantly) he got the watch he actually wants. Pretty damn fine upgrade IMO!

My god no. And I own one. The SD43 is wonderful.

Respectfully disagree but at the end of the day only one guy's opinion matters and that's the OP. If he's happy I'm happy for him.
