If they do come out with a 42mm, hopefully it is truly a 41mm (I believe the current Daytona is actually 39mm but could be mistaken). I think that could wear very well.

That would be great in 42mm. I have owned both a SS and a RG Daytona. They are beautiful but seem a bit small for me.

Fake news for certain. A 42mm Daytona would be a butcher job and ruin what is currently the absolute perfect fit at 39mm. The elegance and charm would vanish in favor of the large 42mm that would resemble a chrono Tissot more than a Rolex. Should this happen though- the 116500 would go to the Moon.

I think they will bring out a larger Daytona with rotating sub dials.

I have made an illustration before where the minute dial is still 30min but sub dial turn 2x per hour so it shows 30, 10, 20 and 60, 40, 50.

At the same time the hour counter can be 12, 3, 6, 9 and 24, 16, 21. Hence the new “Daytona 24”.

They could also make a dressier version of chronograph with same feature but instead of hour counters a date sub dial illustrated below. It would then have 1h chrono function.

It’s been long known Rolex is working on a new movement factory (at least for Europeans). I think this factory is not for more of the same but for more complicated, in the direction of sky dweller type of complicated movements.

Yes, and Rolex "fixed" it on the rose gold, white gold, platinum and YG on Oysterflex Daytonas.

Not sure what to say about that possible Daytona release, to me they kind of look like some of the AP Royal Oak Chronos except in Rolex form

For the love of Pete, ADs don't get insider info and release it. The only credible non-guess early release we've had in recent years was when someone found the web pages with new models the day before their release.

I’m also not sure Rolex would increase the size to 42 considering the Daytona is such a popular model because of the size

I don't see why they would increase to 42mm, if so all configurations will need to change to 42mm.

I think is still to early for that to happen, it was intro (bezel change) in 2006, unless some major changes are done ..
this watch is one of their cash cows, they take it slowly with those..

agreed, the daytona is a women's watch due to it's size. 42 would be nice
