Sell the speedy and get the new 3861 with the updated bracelet. It’s much much nicer than the old speedy.

You’re asking people on a watch forum—people who know about brands and the historical significance of certain references. And who use words like “references” when talking about watches.

Ask any non-watch person, and after a quick glance they’d probably ask why you have two of the same watch. Stainless bracelet, black dial, black bezel.

I get the desire to own both the sub and speedy from the historical point of view, if that’s your thing. If so, keep.

But if you care instead (or more) about having a versatile watch collection, sell one of them (doesn’t matter which) and replace with something that introduces some color. That’d be my vote, anyway.

Why don't you replace it with the new AK?

Two icons you have in your collection there. I’d keep them.

Is this a dumb move? Or would this give me more variety?

Any input would be great

My wis oath means Yes! Always change it up. But my sane side says no. The OP41 is still a simple 3 hand standard watch. I’d keep those two and get a simple watch from another brand at 30% the Rolex MSRP or less. There’s sooo many that do the OP41 as good as the OP41. Even from Tudor.

Agreed, the new 3861 and its wonderful bracelet was a game changer IMO.

Your two watches are a great duo, these shouldn’t be split, an OP gives you nothing that you don’t already have.

I would keep both and replace the op with a fluted jubilee dj instead preferably with another dial color than black.
You have two black dial watches already. a beautiful datejust would make a fine addition to your iconic duo to complete your trio collection

Why do you need two three handers and no chrono? Keep your perfect duo. Add an OP later if you must.

I’m not going to talk you out if anything.

The OP41 is just a simple black dial watch. No variety added to your awesome 2-watch collection.

If you can’t afford to add that watch, then don’t buy it. I would also say don’t buy unless from an AD.

these two watches are a nice combo

but it sounds you got bored by the Omega..

Perhaps just stash it away for a while and then after a year or so take it out for a spin and revisit the whole issue.. maybe then Omega looks interesting again to you

and, if you in the meantime acquire a third piece, all the better..

I wouldn't say it's a dumb move, but I think it's one you'll eventually regret and end up re-buying. Personally, I think the OP would fit into the duo you have and make a killer trio, but that's me.

Keep the two you have as I think you may regret getting rid of the speedy and try and go for something different like a Cartier Santos, keeps the collection varied and will bring something different to the line up (perhaps a white dial).
As many have said, there are plenty of great watches out there from other brands (Zenith, Glashuttle, GS etc....) that may tickle your fancy, be easier to get and you may even get a discount.

Which has the accuracy and power reserve of the 3230 movement? It’s the same movement in the submariner , but you wouldn’t say so many other brands do anything similar to a sub.
