would wear g shock or apple watch - g shock is perfect GMT/perpetual calendar, as is apple watch for travel
Keep a close eye on your phone with a security case/lanyard

"Grow some ball! No problems / worries, so long as the watch is insured. After you recover from the GSW, you'll get a replacement with the insurance money!"
