What do you mean? Wouldn't a fine piece be better protected under layers of clothing?

My first PP just arrived this morning....courtesy of David at David's Fine Watches. My photography doesn't measure up but the watch should not be faulted!

Boy Photobucket, thanks for that giant turd you turned my 5170j photo into.
Let's try it on Flickr instead... Much smoother looking. I wish Flickr could be used to post from a mobile phone. Photobucket looks like crap half the time, but Flickr can only be posted from my home computer.

That watch indeed deserved a much better post, glad to know Flickr could help. Very nice Patek indeed!

With the right processing algorithm the window and lights reflected in the watch look like a mysterious world to be explored... Going to go do my 10% less lift of the week!

You're right about the reflections, it does look pretty mysterious and almost spooky in that watch... World of watchmaking = 1 Narnia = 0... P.S.: Enjoy your sets!

Flickr has an app, you just can't use it to post links to pictures. It is like total idiots programmed it...

Sorry for the late reply - it is one of the very last 3rd series however is a strange example as the '30' is missing from the 6 o'clock mark. A few people I have spoken to all suggest that the very last 3rd series pieces (and 1 or 2 in between) where fitted with different hands (mostly used with 4th series) and an alternative dial.
Personally I prefer it as the dials with the '30' look a little 'misaligned' but I've heard that buying 2499's is a bit of a minefield hence the grace period for authentication (despite being a complete set). |

Edit : Mmm... seems the flickr app doesn't capture the links. There is a faster alternative way though. Access the mobile flickr webpage m.flickr.com and sign in. Select your photo. Tap on the photo. It goes to the all size page. Select the required image size then Tap and hold. A popup menu appears. Tap "open image" and the browser will open the pic with the link on the navigation toolbar. Then copy and paste this link to your TRF post. |

.... The sub dials on the left and right... Are they chrono sub dials? .... The small "blue" hand looks exceptionally bright blue... I have seen 2499 in person and those blue hands are DARK blue almost black in all lighting. Are those hands factory? ... From a distance, the whole thing looks vintage and nice! Congrats! HAGWE
