The scalloped side cut-outs and tiered profile (due to the case/bezel/crystal layering) make it appear, at over 10mm [edited from the incorrect “over 11mm”], as thin as my Aquanaut at ~7mm. The Lange Odysseus that I tried on, though the same height, seemed gargantuan in comparison.
The Czapek sort of reminds me of a cross between a RO bracelet with a VC 222 dial.

Well one of the reasons I bought it was because it looked like a 222 without the bezel.

The bracelet is both very similar and very different to the AP. The AP is a proper jewellery-style bracelet - it is rigid and retains its shape, sitting around the wrist (and rooting out all your hair). The Antarctique superficially looks like the RO bracelet, but it has flexibility closer to an oyster or a Patek Nautilus, with much more articulation in each link. That, IMO, makes it much more comfortable, though not quite as comfortable as an Oyster or an Odysseus.

Czapek

100% recycle

That bracelet is really nice but the text on the rotor is off-putting. At the price point I'm all over the VC 4500V but maybe the resale on these will be below msrp someday.

Personally, the text doesn’t bother me at all. I personally preferred the aesthetics of the gold to the platinum, though I know the latter benefits from increased torque to the mainspring.

I love VC and have always wanted to like the Overseas (objectively it has so much going for it), but in the flesh it is just bulbous. A shame as the 222 is my all-time favourite sport watch.

I saw a review on YouTube that said the winding of this watch takes great effort and does not wind smoothly like it’s pricey competitors. What’s your impression?

No issues whatsoever. It winds with great precision - better than any of my other automatics, though less than my explicitly manual winds.

That's the first dial I see that I like as much as my Secret Alloy Terre Adelie. The colour's just amazing - blue and green - and the pyramid pattern looks far better IMO without the 12, and with the long indexes...

I now understand better how the Czapek “won” the March madness “competition” Fratello ran….. ;-)

I wonder if this means a regular rattrapante skeleton may be in the works. Would be lining up for that!

Super excited for this! Rather curious how the case dimensions will wear when:
“ Height (with glass-box): 15.3mm; perceived height: 10.5mm”

Anyone know true lug to lug length on Antartique- fratello says 45mm but I’m skeptical , and contacted the company without getting a straight forward response. Royal Oak 15500 wears too big on me (6.75 inch / 17cm wrist) so was wondering if this wears smaller than 15500 and whether it would wear more like a PP 5164.

Thanks for any input !

I have both. The Antarctique wears considerably smaller that the RO 15500. It wears very similar to a 40mm GMT

The hour markers, the printing of the logo on the glass… that dial is full of so many smart and unexpected details…

I have tiny wrists - 15cm/6" - so small that I was, according to Xavier (Czapek CEO) on the far end of the permutation scale for sizing. The watch's lugs are very short, so that it wears smaller than a 40mm Rolex GMT and, frankly, any modern sports-watch except the 5711/2. Forgive my naked forearms...

Great info-
Really appreciate it !! So hard to find one to try on and at a price point where it’s hard to order sight-unseen, so this really helps!

I feel we are really standing on a precipice of a great new watch company. I agree its almost like having the chance to get a Patek or AP at their start. Only time will tell but wow what a journey to date.

I hope …. Or they could end up being a one-watch company. Honestly, not a huge
Fan of their other watches besides the Antarctique line . Hope they prove me wrong !

The Faubourg de Cracovie is a fantastic watch. Very underrated IMO.

I don’t think they make enough noise about it being 36K. That places it on a pretty rarefied plane.

For such a young company their dress watch selection is pretty spectacular. I'm not a dress watch guy since they don't particularly suit my lifestyle (I don't wear a suit to work) but I think what they have is on par with other top tier brands. After dealing with Czapek I'll tell you one thing, you will not find the level of customer service and appreciation from ANY other watch brand. This may change once they get bigger but at the moment when you deal with them, they make you feel appreciated. My only good interaction with Rolex was my SA, but they lost Rolex so that door is closed. Now when I walk into a Rolex AD I get treated like complete garbage despite having 7 Rolex. Same goes for AP here in Canada. I love Patek but I can't imagine Mr.Stern calling me personally to discuss my new watch.
