In an ideal world I'd be asking for 38-39mm... but if I had to pick between 36 or 41... probably 36. I find 41mm too big. And historically, men used to wear smaller wrist watches and they could still tell what time it was...no problemo haha

Bit small for my wrist but then I get use to it. 39-40mm is perfect for me
But then it depends on the lugs. Elongated can balance it a bit more Really this comes down to your wrist size. |

A 36mm should be nicely centered on your wrist such that the lugs come ALMOST to the wrist edge. Looking down you would be able to see the endlink and the first link of the bracelet sitting on top of the wrist. If you see more links then yes, a 36mm is probably too small for you. Just my opinion.

That’s oversized, and no shortage on this forum of comical photos just like that. |

No.....As I stated, ALMOST to the edge with a couple of links still showing.

Not small - it all depends on your guild and wrist size. I can never pull of a 36mm - but I have friends that do it nicely! 40mm is the sweet spot for me

Had one years ago and it was too small. 36mm is perfect for me IMO.

I still wear my Seamaster from the 90's in a 36mm. I recently just got the 41 Sub and find it a bit large for my taste. My old EXP II in 40mm fits the best and disappears on my wrist.

Looks good in 36 usually. Only thing is if your are used to 39-41 then after wearing those a 36 seems small in comparison on occasion.

I think 36mm is perfect for me, I have a nearly 7cm wrist.

I have wrists of about 6.75” and I now find 36mm too small. For years I wore watches around 34mm and my OP39 was the first watch I had that was larger. Now I wear watches from 39 to 43mm and anything smaller seems wrong on my wrist. I know that if I posted a picture of me wearing a 43mm people on here would tell me it’s too big but it’s all about personal taste and it seems larger watches are for me.

But there's no wrong answer! That's the beauty of watches, there's something for everyone. You're absolutely right, it's personal taste. |

Thanks for sharing some more pics. Looks absolutely perfect. I think the slight changes they made to this model really made it like nicer. Wear it in excellent health! I hope to have the exact one soon.

Is 36 mm Rolex too small?
Spot on! Love the 36 MM size, specially on dress style models (7 1/4 inch round shaped wrist): Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

36 is a terrific size.
In a long list of weird hang ups on this forum the wrist size thing is perhaps the most curious one to me. I doubt most buyers even consider what is “right” beyond their own preference in the moment of purchase. The whole notion only makes sense to me on the most extreme ends of the spectrum (tiny wrist/huge watch, huge wrist/tiny watch). Personally, I like a diversity of sizes in the same way I like a diversity of colors and complications. My wrist is a little shy of 7” and I run from my newly acquired explorer (two tone) up to my moon watch. I doubt I’d buy anything much larger but would happily entertain a 34. I also find lug length more of a sizing factor than the traditional measurement by which we judge a watch size. Anyway, that was a ramble but I’m riding the absolute high of my new explorer. My first experience buying a watch I thought was stupid and ugly upon release lol. Cheers! |

36mm-40mm is where I draw the line. I’d like to see a 38mm Datejust & yes I know the 41mm DJ is 39.5mm.

So speaking to this thread i went to my local ad today to stop in, say hi and just show my face as well try to bring myself to a final size to put a DJ on order. I have been before and have felt both ways where the 41 is to big then its not then the 36 is to small but same time its not.
I have a 7.25 wrist so i feel like i can get away with either direction. (which kind of sucks haha) So far since my first visit everyone i spoke with has had opposite reactions to when i went this time (based off images) I am still back and forth on it. Where sometimes at a distance i am like, 41 all the way but then up close im like ehh i dunno haha Also for context i wear a 40 currently, i brought it to compare and i noticed the DJ had much longer lugs which is why i think the DJ 41 looks sometime to big for some people. These are their samples but end goal is blue dial, fluted, jubilee stick See attached images to see the different in size. |
