That was my favorite show at the time. I remember reading or seeing a show about Tom Selleck and one year during filming gave all of his film crew Rolexes as gifts. What a guy!

YG DD. While flipping through a Newsweek magazine I saw a Rolex ad with this watch. It blew my mind, I was starting college so at the time it was out of the question, then when I finished college the local AD introduced me to the 'different' dials of Rolex: a white one with bold romans. That was my first, still own it and would never let it go.

My dads two-tone Date-Just. When he first bough it, I couldnt understand why he would pay so much for a watch... Then again, its not just a watch.

Please share the model that caught your eye, which prompted you to own a rolex.
The Rolex GMT Master 1675 was THE watch for me when I first saw the ads in the National Geographic and Reader's Digest Magazines during the 1970's.

Still don't have one...

... but a few others ;-)

Best,

A

Mine was the TT Blue Sub (16613) like many others. I wasn't super impressed with it but it definitely caught my attention. After checking out the other models, I instantly became attached to the Polar Exp II, which became my first Rolex.

Well...it was in summer of `95. or `96. I was teenager and I saw that YG Sub on wrist of my dad`s friend! I`ll be damn! I knew that I`ll be Rolex`s fan for the rest of my life!
And I had them few in my days...Explorer II, two OP Dates, couple of Tudors...and now I own only one Tudor Prince Date! Real shame!
But, I` m saving money...

When I was about 10 I was at a football game walking through the crowd. I saw a pepsi GMT on a guys wrist and asked, is that a rolex? The guy laughed and said yes. I'm not even sure I knew what a rolex was, but after that I knew I wanted one.

It was the Sub that started it. I was going to buy one, but the AD had a SD in the case. So the SD went home with me. However, i would still like to get a Sub for my collection. Ron
