You are only 44! What are you going to do now ?

Work is good for many people. Everyone is wired differently. In my profession (MD) I see many men die shortly after retirement. I will work as long as I can, but transition to part time at some point.

It’s possible that these men would have died if they were still working, too.

Anything is possible, it’s just my personal observation in the profession that I’ve been in since 1994. I’m pretty sure I have a better frame of reference than you do. Another thing I have noticed, is that they seem to get worsening dementia fairly soon after retiring. Got to keep the brain active.

Not trying to be combative, like I said, just some personal observations.

Well, I just retired, and I’m not planning to die anytime soon. I know lots of folks that are thriving after retirement.

Congratulations upon your retirement.
You have served your time for the community.
Now enjoy some "Family Time" and then find a part-time job, just to stop you from getting bored.

I turn 66 in a couple of months, so entitled to my "Bus Pass" LOL
Just started a job working approx 12 hrs a week.

Congratulations to you. Glad you made it out, without personally making the national news. Been retired from the job for 14 years. I don't miss the circus nor the clowns.

Been retired for 20 years now, enjoy it.
I turn 57 on Monday and am currently sailing from Cape May to Nantucket. The following week, I’m spending 4 days at Lime Rock.

Life is too short so I have a lot of things to cram in.

Quite a few to keep me busy. I love to fish as much as possible and I raise dragons. I have more of these little guys around my house than most. This hobby takes several hours a day of time to keep working. But it’s worth it because it’s my passion. These are Bearded Dragons and are he most popular pet lizards in the world. I produce hundreds of these a year and sell/ship them all over the USA. (The blue dot is just a paint dot so I know this one is a boy)

Retired at 44 with an LV. What else can you ask for?

I have a pretty nicely stocked bar of all kinds of great bourbon. I’m from Kentucky so you know I love bourbon and guns!

I celebrated last Saturday when my wife threw me a freaking AMAZING secret party that she planned since January. Tricked me into showing up to a place with a friend and I had no clue. Whole top floor was rented out with a DJ and bar and all my closest friends and family and co workers. It was a blast and had so much fun! Look at me up at midnight posting on these pages because I don’t have to get up tomorrow morning! Life is good!
