I find this to be true across other brands as well. My 5168G in white gold feels far superior to a SS Aquanaut and enjoy the added weight and knowledge that it is WG.

To me it did, for a long time I was underwhelmed when I took the steel ones out. The WG BLRO won it over the steel one. I upgraded almost all of my watches to PM and without any regrets.

Now recently I added a 126500ln (white). The ease of use and the look of feel are different, and I must see I’m really enjoying steel again. Now I’m hungry for more steel.

I thought I'd take a second shot at expressing my sentiments on the question. In truth I'd say for me the answer is "no." I like each watch based on its particular attractiveness to me. For the Daytonas for example, with only two SS watches in the current AD line-up, the SS versions are a bit boring. Other watches in SS hold attractiveness for me. Examples are OPs, AKs, Milgauss. On the other hand the all black Subs and Sub Dates are a bit on the bland side. So again, it depends on the watch in question. I like my watches to be striking to my eye.

Yes and no. Took me a little to be comfortable wearing a PM piece in certain situations, but then I realized I do it for myself and nobody else. It's always nice to put on an "old" SS piece every once in a while. I don't think this is just for SS vs PM, this goes for any watch. Sometimes you honeymoon with a watch for over a year and the others collect dust.

Definitely not. I try to reserve my gold Daytona for dressier occasions but still wear my SS Rolex models all the time...

Amen.

I have a 228206 and it gets 1/2 my time. One week on, wear another. One week on, wear another. I like everything about it, and the blue quadrant dial enchants me.

Full PM is something I would likely never do. If I did, I can see how easy it would be to never go back to ss.

I’ve tried on PMs and see why it would be hard.

Funny, for me my PM Rolex only made me appreciate the SS more. The PMs, while beautiful, seem limited somehow to me, while the SS, depending on which one, can be dressy, casual, fun or all three.

My .02 of course.

Enjoy!
