ive been looking around to learn more about this watch before pulling the trigger. i've read that the case back has a"B" on it with an arrow over the top. but ive seen some 116400GV black dials without the B on the case back....

does anyone know what year that was introduced? i apologize if this was discussed already.

Go back and look carefully at post #6 concerning the "B" symbol. The symbol is inside the watch on the Faraday cage, and NOT on the outside of the rear cover. Only when you remove the case back will you see the symbol.

The Milgauss was introduced in 1956.

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/a-...odymium-magnet

This article actually tests the anti-magnetic of Omega and Rolex Milgauss. The watches can handle more than 1000 gauss

I am always amazed that there's so little love for the modern white-dial version (the 116500-0002). Here's mine on an orange Everest strap. It cheers me up!

The Rolex Milgauss

To me the Milgauss is a fun watch and I am a”young 65”.

Do I like others Rolex’s more - yeah - adore my CHNR.

But when I really want to be in a laid back mood - it’s my Z Blue on a blue strap with orange stitching. It’s just nice to be sitting on the porch with it on and that orange lightning second hand doing its thing.

I love the white dial Milgauss! And the orange strap looks badass on it, dude. Nice choice!

That’s cool! My 116400 has the same dial as yours but recently sourced the OEM GV sapphire

They really are stunning pieces. Only seen one in the wild but don’t see many nice watches day to day.
I assume these are hard to obtain like all SS Rolexes these days?

Edit: a quick search shows that they are like all other SS models in current market.

I don’t think it’s that bad to get really.

I walked into my local AD with no purchase history and it took a month or two.

Loving it so far. It’s so unique and different but in a really good way. The way the light constantly plays with the colors of the dial and crystal is wonderful. I really think it’s a very underrated watch in the grand scheme of things.

Good luck and happy hunting if you do decide to pursue it.

Anyone able to provide a video of their Milgauss? I'd like to see the dial under sunlight if possible? Alas, I cannot afford one of these!

Which dial you are looking to see on a video?
