This thread needs to be closed down, since it is doing nothing for my promise of buying no more watches for 3 years.

Updated extended list with grades (1 having not that much love and 5 is close to grail - in my opinion only of course ):

SkyD -- 4
PP5711 -- 3
PP5712 -- 4
PP5202 -- 3
Bluesy Sub -- 2
VC Overseas (chrono or not chrono...?) -- 4
FP Journe CB -- 3
WG Daytona -- 3
YM 40 -- 3
DJ41 (IMHO, too close in looks to the SkyD and I prefer the latter) -- 3
Grand Seiko Spring drive -- 2
AP RO -- 3
Smurf -- 3 (although a great watch, blue maybe not as deep as the others above imo)

Who disagrees?

Btw, the VC O and the FPJ CB are two discoveries for me thanks to this thread so thank you everyone!

Such a great question. I love the Smurf dial a LOT, but the skydweller and YM dials are stunning.

I think the lapis lazuli DD may deserve a half-point for “no one else in the room ever has one” (despite the YG one currently on offer by a TS here on TRF) - Here’s a no-filters pic.

In an attempt to be more objective however, I think the Lange ‘night sky’ blue has to be worth a look, and will add that I’ve seen the above Moser blue irl, and it is a knockout. This Moser guilloché blue is also intriguing ...

I would disagree that the SkyD is above the FPJ CB. However I echo the VCO being so high on the list.

One I would add- the Seiko Shippo enamel dial:

I’d love one of these but they are so hard to find and the secondary market has exploded. Used to be able to find secondary for around 20k-22k. Now they’re going for 30k-35k. Wish I bought one a couple years ago

I was watching them increase as I was trying to get one, 20...21...22...23...24...25!
Locked in at 24 and then they really jumped.

Beautiful and unique watch, imho far more special then many of the other pieces that have been skyrocketing.

Ps kind of lessons the sting of the 5711 I let go for the same price

Am considering the Sky Dweller, the Daytona (although I already have an SS white and and SS black), the YM40 and the Nautilus.

Other ideas more than welcome!

I think I am leaning towards the SkyD (probably more reasonable in terms of budget and also less seen around) but all thoughts appreciated!

Thanks!
Take a look on TT Submariner .
I love it!
