Black. Green is nice but I would think black will go with more in regard to clothes and not stick out as much.

Black. You won't be disappointed. After your next milestone consider the green or something else with more personality

Green is fashionable and trendy, i love colors but i am sure that at one point i would wish that my watch is timeless. And that i have gotten the black. Once you go black, you cant go back :P

Green, no black, no green. Wait a minute, Black.... Green. Black. Green. Black. Black. Black. Black. Oh Green. Green. Green. Black/Green/Black/Green. Repeat ad infinitum...
I know we like to discuss things to the Nth degree on the forums, but I think everything that could possibly be said on the LV/LN debate has already been said in this thread. Anyone who's spending that much money on a watch, should make their own mind up - I have no doubt, whichever one they buy, that they will be be delighted with their awesome new Sub... Enough said on the subject... |

As bad as I want a hulk, I'd go with the black dial first.

I got the LV a few months ago, it's been on my wrist pretty much every day since and I could not be happier. It is incredibly beautiful and can't be judged by pictures.

Meh - I know this subject has been discussed to death however I am still totally torn and actually finding it stressful! Its like picking between 2 gorgeous ladies lol
Prob wouldnt be so difficult if it wasnt my first! Didnt even like the Hulk at first! Flip a coin I think, though the missus reckons the Green is nicest however black more wearable in general as goes with anything! I think half the problem is that this place has too many pics of the Hulk and few of the LN - im being brainwashed'!!!!!!! :) |

Black please. NO green. Absolutely NO blue either. Unless they are dark green or dark blue. Then I would be torn.

If it has to be ceramic then the LN. Its more understated & can be worn in any situation (even when diving...). I've had both & the LV sunburst dial is 1st class, but the bezel.. I kept telling myself I liked it, but I always ended up wearing the LN. FYI, I 'upgraded' from a 16610 and found the larger maxi style casing to be uncomfortable, regardless of bracelet sizing.
Regards, Steve. |

I have both also, but I have worn the 116610LV more often than the 116610LN. In fact, I can't remember when was the last time I wore the 116610LN

The Lv is so nice to look at because it changes color in every lighting situation.
I love mine and am really happy with it....whichever you choose, you will be making the right choice! |

I bought the green about two months ago and I am still undecided. That said, some people tend to say that black goes with everything. I wear the green with everything I have got and I can't seem to see any kind of clashing. If anything, I think I like the contrast.
Sometimes, I think to myself, I should have gotten black. And then I look at my watch and smile. I think the consensus remains, you have to get the one that speaks to you. Also keep in mind that the green is way more expensive. |

i just want to reiterate how much i actually love this conversation. i enjoy the debate in my mind and i like reading all of your posts. the grass may always be greener (no pun intended) . but, if you are wearing either one of these watches, then you simply have to say to yourself "life is freaking fantastic". i take my watch off to type as i don't want to get scuffs. i am going to stop tying now simply because i want to but my hulk back on.
btw, wearing brown pants with a light blue t-shirt and a dark blue hoodie and it looks outstanding. i can't imagine this watch not going with anything. then again, i am not a suit wearing type of guy. if i were wearing a suit, i would think the datejust ii might be the better option. |

I'd go with black, just like 007. By the way, this is not going to be the only Rolex in your life.

Stop it, stop it, stop it. That is just crazy IMO...wear the watch, scuff the watch, live a little. It's not like you're talking about wearing it to weld buildings together...life is too short IMO to be that obsessive about minor things like scuffs. These watches were made to go anywhere, do anything, and look amazing in the process. I take pride in literally almost NEVER taking the watch off. Be it work, play, at nice restaurants or 80' under water...I want my sport watches to experience some sport, then grab a quick 'bath'to get cleaned up for a nice dinner. I didn't buy this thing to NOT be on my wrist.
Just tonight I'm proud to report I spent almost 30 mins w/ my Dremel & a buffing wheel trying to get a nasty rough spot out of a tooth on my Subs bezel (I slammed the hell out of it on something about 6 months ago and the sharp edge has started to snag on all pieces of clothing). I buffed it not because of looks, but merely to try and cut down on fabric catching on the jagged edge. The bezel tooth is now smooth as can be and there's an ever so slight 'battle scar'in the bezel. I'm not too worried...it shows the watch has some character & in the end it will be good as new when I send it in for my 5 year service. What fun would it be sending an almost perfect, non-scuffed, watch in for service? It would return looking the same...and that wouldn't be any fun at all. Beat it up, enjoy it, then let Rolex bring it back to Like-New condition so the love of a new watch can start all over again. |
