Double congrats! I am so happy to hear. I hope they can trace the path backwards to the thief.

Wow, that's incredible! Fantastic news!

Now let's hope they can trace it back to the lowlife scrote who stole it in the first place as well.

I looked at the date and thought why on earth has someone posted on such an old thread… and then realised what’s happened!

That’s amazing news! Congratulations.

I'll be doing what I can on that score.

The shop that sold it in 2017 gave police details of that, and it apparently passed through 6 dealers before they got it (and NONE of them checked the register.... whats all that about) and at the beginning of the chain it was apparently bought at a car boot sale for £200 over 120 miles from us. Highly unlikely..... Bit expensive for a fake and very cheap for a genuine one!! Plus the person we believe to have stolen it knew it was real, he wouldn't have offloaded it for £200!!

Great news. But what is going to happen with the insurance side of things? Did they pay out back in 2016?

They did, we are paying the settlement back to them, they're happy with this aspect :)

We registered the theft with The Watch Register in the UK in 2020 (when we became aware of this register) and 3 weeks ago, our watch was offered to a pawn broker in the UK, and they checked the register, saw it was stolen and retained it.

The police then took the watch and did some investigations. I don't know where its been for the last few years, but it is finally coming home!!

Plenty of unanswered questions and wild goose chases over the last 18 months since I discovered the watch as being 'sold in 2017' on a website of a dealer shop not too far from where we live.

Such a rollercoaster time, and whilst I know some people wouldn't have been bothered about getting it home, we were.

If you have had a watch stolen, get it on the Watch Register in the UK. You may get a happy ending after 6 years too.
This is fantastic news.

I will search the Scottish sectors ads up here for you and if I see one will make a few calls

sorry to hear this, Insurance is great but they will demand that you inform them of any changes etc and far better to tell them make model etc to ensure they cant wriggle out of cover if the need arises.
Great news,,,,,

So glad it’s back. May want to update the registries you had it on now just in case you have to have it serviced or decide to sell it in the future. Might be easiest to document your recovery and ownership now rather than heads down the line.

I am very happy for you and the outcome. Incredible. My first instinct would be to drive it to an RSC and have them do a service on it because it could have been tampered with using Non Rolex parts. It would also give you the feeling of a fresh start in my opinion. Anyhow, Congratulations.

Do any of your neighbours in the street have security cameras? If do ask them to check their footage to see if they captured the miscreants walking by. If they drove you might be able to get a vehicle model, colour and license plate
