It’s s combination of factors

1 - the 1675s got too expensive and this put upward pressure on the 5 digits

2 - the new Pepsi was only in white gold at 5x the price of the previous model and this put upward pressure on the 5 digits

3 - the increase of vintage collectibility fueled by social media

4 - increased global demand

It’s the perfect storm!

Don't forget 16700's

Last of the original GMT's,
far lower production numbers than 16710's &
a slightly slimmer case

The market price of it gradually increases. I regret not picking it up early on.

It is what I use to pop the bezel off when changing inserts. It is perfect because no matter what you do it will not scratch your watch.

Yes 16700 is right up there. I think it will take off just like the 16710. Must admit, I thought the cases were same size?

The 16700 is a little bit thinner since the movement is a tiny bit thinner. The 16700 doesn’t have the jump hour gears.

The 16700 and 16750 midcase are around the same thickness give or take some microns

The only thing I am not happy about is I should have bought a 16700 to keep my 16710 company that is when they were 5 to 6 grand.

Exactly why I went with it over the 16710 back when I was searching. The few hundred bucks I saved was nice too. Quick set date is nice too.

they are rare to find @5k USD thought ... either owners are keeping them to wear them (or as an investment) or the ones who sell them, want to make big bucks out of it. Doesn't really matter Rolex made hundreds of thousand - Demand VS supply == $$$

The Pepsi craze is so real and I'm so glad I traded my Kermit for one!

I'm not sure if the world has gone crazy for the 16710, but it has become a bit of a grail for me. To the point where I have put my 116710LN up for trade locally for a Pepsi bezel GMT master 2. Not sure if it is a smart move, but the heart wants what the heart wants

Did the same in 2005
I sold my Kermit and replaced with a new 16710. What a world of difference

There is something 16710 can offer, that the current Pepsi can’t!

The bracelet, the colour of the Bazel, The size, the originality, etc. when people paying that much for the current Pepsi with open ending supply, no reason why the same amount can not be spent on a discontinued better version of classic GMT!
