Think about it; why would you trust Rolex's retail strategy from someone who doesn't even know any info on new releases?

Just enjoy the hunt from a few of the honest AD's...
I agree. Rolex UK president is not even privy of Baselworld releases until the day before. But I guess he can tell us about long-term Rolex's supply strategy?

I am fairly new to all this in the scheme of things, I was lucky bought my ceramic sub in 2018 through a main dealer it was sourced within 2 days which I was aware i was very lucky.

To me Rolex puts out a high quality product, they have a very high profile Brand 'image' built over many many years which has moved more into the luxury side than the tool watch side, it is very obvious they output what they want - they are not a standard business being a registered charity, so surely wont work in the same way.

I recently registered with an AD in the UK for a GMT master 2, in conversation I mentioned I had a ceramic sub and they could see I was wearing my Omega Speedmaster MOTM what I didnt like was they wrote that detail down and advised, that may help me in getting one...true or BS?! Im not sure.

Seem's like if your 'part of the gang' then its a step up from the guy who is buying his first Rolex, which I think is a pity if this is true it makes it hard for someone just getting into Rolex for the first time, feel's like they are pushing you towards buy that date just, then we can talk...

My question is so who makes that choice of who gets one when one arrives at the dealer, say there are 50 people on the list first guy on the list has never owned a Rolex, do they then look at the 45th person to register as they maybe own an Explorer 2, a SUB and GMT?

When I registered with the AD it did feel like I was being 'interviewed' in a way, maybe its about weeding out the flippers?
